This position is responsible for setting up, monitoring, and maintaining the daily and weekly production schedule for all assigned value streams to ensure production plans are achieved.
The individual will analyze loading and scheduling of materials to optimize machine efficiency, set-ups, inventory levels, and maintain stellar delivery performance by verifying orders are completed on-time and in-full. The role involves scheduling the plant and communicating the schedule and any changes to the appropriate personnel. It supports the weekly and monthly loading capacities for each product group, expedites orders, and makes decisions regarding production flow and individual order priorities. The individual works closely with the Sr. Planner Scheduler and Operations Managers to continuously improve plant performance and ensure proper material flow.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Scheduling:
- Prepare, distribute, and verify adherence to daily and weekly finite schedules and plans.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Operations to optimize tooling use and reduce changeovers.
- Balance inventory levels and machine order levels to efficiently achieve order completion on-time and in-full.
- Control and optimize weekly capacities by value stream.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through best practices for inventory management, including cycle counts and shipping/receiving verification of raw materials.
Process and Product Knowledge:
- Demonstrate knowledge of capacities, cycles, and bottlenecks for the value streams.
- Demonstrate knowledge of material flow and product types to optimize performance.
- Become the PMK (person most knowledgeable) of the scheduling and inventory systems and tools to make the voice of the customer visible to the plant floor.
- Demonstrate the ability to handle back-up work from other Production Schedulers.
Continuous Improvement:
- Reflect the department's vision, mission, and values in actions.
- Regularly utilize lean tools and daily management systems to make problems visible.
- Utilize root cause problem solving to ensure problems do not recur.
- Show evidence of attempts to maximize and improve work efficiency.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

- B.S. degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience. Lean or Six Sigma training is a plus.
- 0 to 5 years in manufacturing and/or Supply Chain.
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge and experience with Enterprise (ERP) or Materials Resource Planning (MRP) software, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Must be action-oriented with proven success in a fast-paced environment.
- B.S. Degree in Industrial Engineering preferred.
