For more than 25 years, we have been providing machined components for various customers. The successful candidate for the Production Setup Machinist will be able to set up tools and work holding fixtures, load programs, proof run parts, perform first-piece inspections, and operate various machines. Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to interpret and translate engineering designs, drawings, and documentation
  • Have a working knowledge of geometric tolerances and how they are applied
  • Have a working knowledge of Fanuc and Yasnac controls preferred
  • Have a thorough understanding of or the ability to learn production equipment quickly
  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to keep a clean and organized work area
  • Ability to sets up production machines following prints and specifications. Assigned machines may include lathes, grinders, mills, and similar equipment
  • Ability to choose, align, and securely attach holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and other materials on machines
  • Ability to apply knowledge of mathematics and instruments to calculate dimensions and tolerances
  • Ability to identify malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining; adjusts offsets of machine to correct errors or maintain tolerances
  • Ability to inspect and measure completed production units to identify defects caused by machine setup.
  • Ability to start or restart equipment after power outages or interruptions.
  • Ability to maintain a safe and orderly production area
  • Ability to perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate's degree in Manufacturing/Technical Programming; OR completion of a full apprenticeship program; OR successful completion of suitable company training preferred
  • At least one year of experience as a fully qualified machinist is required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Physical ability to operate machines
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and stretching
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
