SUMMARY The Production Shift Laborer is responsible for performing general hot end cleaning, laborer services and delivering equipment to and from the work area. Manning basement during colored glass production. Cleans the hot end, break room and office, and cleans the machines as required. Performs forklift maintenance checklist and all other miscellaneous duties as assigned.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform general Hot End cleaning and laborer tasks. Take the on-coming job change equipment to the hot end and bring the off-going job change equipment to the mold shop. Clean machines daily via blowing them out with an air hose, raking and/or shoveling. Responds to factory communication systems that calls for Laborers to report to machines and/or a specific area (horn system). Dump cullet and trash from the Hot End. Report to and work in the basement during colored glass production, during power dips, or other operations emergencies. Strip and cleans machines going out of production; prepares equipment on machines scheduled to come into production. Operate forklift and perform forklift maintenance checklist; operate handheld forklift (Crown). Clean break room, and office as needed. Prepare cork molds if necessary. Follow direction from Foreman, Chiefs and Operators.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Able to work with minimum supervision. Basic mechanical skills. Self-motivated and shows initiative.EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to work high temperatures. Bending/crouching on a daily basis. Able to lift or maneuver up to 75 lb. molds. Use ladder to reach high areas. Able to work overtime, often on short notice.12-hour rotating shift (6am-6pm, 6pm-6am)
