Responsibilities include planning live events and productions; addressing issues in content delivery; creating television schedules; arranging equipment for transit; preparing Beaufort County channel vehicles with the proper equipment for daily/weekly projects and broadcasts; conducting interviews; and editing videos for broadcast packages. Records routine and special events as needed. Examples of Duties
- Coordinates and participates in the scheduling of programs, tele courses, and video shoots; prepares equipment for transit; and prepares Beaufort County channel vehicles with the proper equipment for daily/weekly projects and broadcasts.
- Plans for events and productions.
- Schedules production guests.
- Provides guidance to coworkers regarding audio and video information, trains users on the proper use of audio and video equipment, software, and hardware.
- Creates and edits content for shows, public service announcements, public meetings, and public events.
- Coordinates productions with others within the department for shows, events, radio productions, cable distribution channels, and public service announcements.
- Operates audio and video equipment, software, and hardware to record government meetings; monitors video and audio feed during shoots; and troubleshoots technical problems associated with video editing, audio creation, and audio editing.
- Using digital technology, produces and processes multi-media, e.g., DVD, CD, slides, video tapes, etc.; prepares video duplicates using duplication software.
- Critiques productions after completion.
- Installs and maintains audio/video equipment
- Updates and monitors video archives which includes labeling and shelving videos and updating the video archive database
- Performs other related duties of a similar nature or level.
Typical Qualifications Education and Experience:
- Requires a bachelor's degree in Communications or a related area.
- Three (3) years of related work experience in audio, television, or live events; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
