Job Type Full-timeDescriptionEstablished in 2019, Avert Vertical Cultivations is a locally-owned hydroponic farm that produces fresh, safely grown produce. Lettuce, herbs, and other fresh vegetables are grown in a controlled environment that uses less water and produces less nutrient runoff. The result is longer-lasting and better testing produce we are proud to provide to the community year-round.The Production Specialist participates in all facets of the operation including seeding, transplanting, harvesting, packaging and delivery. Essential Functions Participates and oversees the production, health, harvest, packaging and delivery of plants. Completes daily documentation to monitor performance and yields. Ensures utmost facility cleanliness and safety. Participates in continued development and improvement of Standard Operating Procedures. Monitors and manages the hydroponic systems repairs and maintenance. Monitors monthly gameplans to ensure financial expectations are met. Participates in annual gameplans/budgets. Participates in proper training of all staff. Contributes content to Marketing Team for website and social media. Liaison with the Telesis, Inc. executive and admin teams. Other duties as assigned by the Production Manager.Competencies Willing and able to perform a wide variety of hands-on tasks when needed. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships both internally and externally. Strong problem-solving skills, creative thinking and ability to make well informed decisions. Self-starter with the ability to see work through with a high degree of independence. Strong written & verbal communication skills. Valid Drivers License.Work EnvironmentThis position operates in a mix of a production and office environment. The environment may frequently be cold, hot, wet or noisy. Physical DemandsWhile performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, to lift and move a minimum of 60 lbs. repeatedly and without assistance, to walk, kneel and bend. Employee must be able to operate equipment for a sustained period. Employee must be able to work in both a hot and cold environment.ClassificationSalaried ExemptReports ToPresident of Telesis, Inc.Availability40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, available nights and weekends as needed. Must be willing to travel/work outside of normal business hours.Required Education and ExperienceHigh School diploma or equivalent Preferred Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree
