Position OverviewResponsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Sheboygan site including formaldehyde, resin, wax, and shipping operations. Responsibility includes leadership and direction of the workforce, associate empowerment and engagement, EH&S compliance, process excellence, initiative management and implementation as directed by Site Leader. Leads operations in a manner consistent with optimum productivity, regulatory compliance, and cost of goods sold. In the absence of the Site Leader, this position will assume the leadership role of the site. The role requires a multi-talented leader who can execute all job responsibility categories including EHS, Production Management, Quality, Teamwork and most importantly, be a skilled leader of people in a plant manufacturing environment.
Job ResponsibilitiesEH&S - Provide safety leadership on the shop floor (all shifts) by always demonstrating a personal safety mindset.
- Ensures that safe work practices and behaviors are used by all associates and contractors as outlined in the Life Saving Rules and the Safety Manual.
- Ensures OSHA PSM standards are practiced including employee participation, management of change and PM items.
- Actively takes part on plant safety committee and key hazard teams.
- Leads incident investigations.
- Facilitates corrective actions ensuring they are completed promptly (within 10 days of event).
- Ensures hazardous and nonhazardous wastes generated in all departments are properly handled and not allowed to accumulate.
- Responsible for driving good housekeeping standards and 5S.
Production Management - Responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all site operations units which includes the effective allocation of resources and staffing.
- Responsible for production schedule attainment and achievement of productivity targets.
- Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving operational issues.
- Responsible for coordination of efficient outage planning and maximizing plant uptime; coordination between production, maintenance, and project work.
- Maintain physical inventory of raw materials and finished goods.
- Monitor process order costs: track and explain adjustments and variances.
- Execute plant approvals for new recipes in SAP in conjunction with the Site Leader.
- Organize and keep standard operating procedures and associate training.
Quality - Investigates quality and customer incidents and prevents recurrence.
- Takes an active role reviewing new recipes prior to manufacture with a critical eye toward QC test applicability.
- Help to support ISO certification with responsible internal/external personnel.
- Work in coordination with QA department to drive sustainable quality improvements on a product-by-product basis.
Human Resources - Be visible and available to manage personnel and process issues.
- Empower and engage area teams to affect and implement change and improvements in their operating areas.
- Leads hiring process for recruiting technicians as needed to keep departments staffed effectively.
- Continuously assess associate performance and provide developmental opportunities as appropriate.
- Ensures that all manufacturing operators receive proper and adequate certification training to allow them to perform their duties safely and competently.
- Recognizes reliable performance and gives corrective feedback as needed.
- Drive a professional and respectful workplace culture at the site.
- Solid awareness of HR and company policies and ensures adherence at the site.

Minimum Qualifications - Minimum five (5) years of proven experience managing and leading others in chemical processing or a closely related field.

- Must be able to coordinate emergency situations.
Education Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering or the functional equivalent in experience is needed.
Preferred Qualifications - Good mechanical aptitude
- Understanding of process equipment
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Formal training in management and supervision of people
- Experience with Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing principles
