Job Description:

As the Production Superintendent, you will lead the operations of a production department to ensure that volume, cost, and quality standards are achieved. You will ensure productivity, provide production process analysis, and make recommendations for process improvements. You will report to the Area Operations Manager and work onsite in Cleveland, OH. Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage production teams and monitor the goals of the production area to ensure production, safety, and quality goals are met.
  • Develop the processes and workflow for production and create work standards.
  • Support the preparation and presentation of training materials for the department staff, plant and other PPG personnel, customers.
  • Build the annual workforce plan, engage, and mentor team members.
  • Initiate/manage projects concerning cost savings, quality, efficiency, and other improvement opportunities.
  • Develop productivity/capacity plans for materials, machines, and employees and develop plans for improvement.
  • Oversee Shift operations through effective coaching and development of Production Supervisors
  • Lead and manage product processing operation. Implement the use of Lean Manufacturing tools and systems to improve consistency, reduce cycle time, lower total production costs, and eliminate waste.
  • Contribute and promote a culture of 5S in the warehouse and production areas that allows for an organized, safe, and quality-focused team.
  • Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 procedures as it relates to responsibilities.
  • Work closely with QA and Engineering, Maintenance and Process Engineering teams to identify and take corrective actions in response to customer concerns, requests, Research, Sales and Tech Services.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or related technical field is required
  • 7+ years of experience required in chemical plant operations in batch manufacturing; Automotive OEM paint manufacturing strong preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification, or other continuous improvement certification preferred
  • Experience delivering CAPEX projects
  • Must be able to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization as well as customers and suppliers.
