Job Description SummaryThe Production Leader manages the day to day operations of the cell while meeting safety, quality, delivery and cost metrics. The Production Leader is responsible for all planning and coordinating within the GFA cell. This includes, but not limited to, working with the Scheduler to meet customer need dates, coordinating with the MRP on the delivery of parts and material, and setting priorities for the Production team. The Production Leader will work with the Operations Leaders on all shifts to help execute the day to day operations, allocate resources to achieve business goals, and create a consistent and effective shift-to-shift transition. This role is also responsible for allocating overtime to meet the needs of the business. The Production Leader also supports the Cell Leader in the strategic planning of manpower, equipment and other resources to achieve our goals/targets within the cell.
Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities- Oversight and planning of a manufacturing work cell.
- Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
- Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
- Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience manufacturing, production or industrial setting)
- Minimum 2 years experience in scheduling or managing a workforce of 20+ employees in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Eligibility Requirements - Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future
- This position is 100% onsite at the GE Schenectady, NY plant
Desired Characteristics- Manufacturing experience relevant to large scale manufacturing and production.
- Experience scheduling and running projects in a machine shop environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
- Established project management skills.
Pay Transparency:The base pay range for this position is $90,400- $98,000 The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for 10
% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. *The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.This posting is expected to close on Nov. 22, 2024 or when suitable candidate identified.
