Our dairy cooperative is seeking a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor to work in our Cut & Wrap Plant located in Cabot, VT. Flexible work schedule, including weekends, is required.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Consistently and effectively champion safety initiatives within the facility to ensure all safety goals and objectives are met, maintaining a safe work environment for all employees.
* Liaison with warehouse, quality assurance, and maintenance personnel on a daily basis.
* Maintaining GMP / Housekeeping at a high level within the department through the involvement of all team members.
* Monitor quality of incoming raw materials and finished products.
* Maintain and enforce company policy and programs, including administering discipline as required. Maintains and provides records to demonstrate fair administration and document variances from policy or rules.
* Maintain an adequately trained workforce capable of meeting quality production requirements through hiring and cross training. This will include fair and timely appraisals of personnel, to be used as constructive tools in developing the workforce.
* Ensures the facility is maintained in a sanitary manner.
* Ensures that all products meet regulatory and customer specifications to include daily walk-through inspections, code checks, weight checks, metal detector checks, sanitizing strength checks, and all documentation of any variance to specifications.
* Responsible for the segregation of product that is suspect of not meeting quality standards.
* Responsible for maintaining statistical information necessary to make process adjustments as required for giveaway, trim, and floor scrap minimization.
* Growth-oriented projects will be assigned in support of company goals and individual development.
* Adheres to and enforces GMP's and company policy and serves as a role model for staff.
* Responsible for performing all work-related tasks using Good Manufacturing Practices by following the Food Safety and Food Quality requirements of the SQF Program. This includes the requirement to report any and all food safety issues and incidents to your supervisor or Line Leader immediately.
* This position requires the understanding of the role of the SQF Practitioner in ensuring that food safety decisions are made using a risk-based approach. All food safety issues and incidents are to be reported to the QA Department either directly from the employee or by the Supervisor.
* All other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree preferred. Solid knowledge of SQF, HAACP, GMPs and sanitation regulations. Ability to read, comprehend and apply the principles from technical material and/or manuals. Communication skills are essential. Ability to write detailed correspondence, instructions and memos. Requires computer skills, to include Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn other internal computer programs. Ability to present information in one-on-one and/or larger group situations. Strong math background, and ability to interpret and draw graphs and charts. Requires analytical skills to identify root causes and resolve
