Job SummaryThe Production Supervisor will serve as the functional people leader in a Plant or Manufacturing area, which may include Prep, Weave, Finishing, Cloth or other support areas. The Production Supervisor is the front-line exempt people leader, primarily responsible for hiring, training, retention of their people, and then delivering on all initiatives/goals (safety, quality, delivery, cost, inventory).Responsibilities:
- Ensure effective safety program adherence and training requirements are complete within their area of responsibility, and throughout the organization as part of the leadership team.
- Follow JPS Hourly Interview Process, committing to Hire, Train/Develop and Retain Employees.
- Serve as responsible party for safety/training requirements and cross training initiatives, using On The Job Trainers and the Training Coordinator as resources .
- Day-to-day resolution of employee issues, escalating complex or ethical issues to Manager / HR promptly. This includes, but is not limited to, labor, supply & repairs, waste, overtime, and process improvements.
- Lead a well-run, fluid, daily operation and participate in all team/local meetings or required reporting according to standards.
- Effectively engage, coach and mentor employees and administer disciplinary actions per JPS Policies and Procedures, partnering with Human Resources and Manager as appropriate.
- Facilitate Scheduling, Absence Management, and ensuring all Timekeeping duties and Timecards are complete and accurate.
- Participate in Leadership Development for Supervisors, and actively participate in cross training for themselves and for their teams.
- Since Production Supervisors are people leaders, they can, and should, be prepared to cross-train and flex between departments as needed. They should avoid running equipment for extended periods of time, unless in a critical need.
- Actively participate in audit and compliance standards (AS9100) and support efforts in this area lace
- Participate in root cause corrective action process, investigations and safety incidents as needed and ensure that business is conducted at the highest level of integrity.
- Support Safety and Human Resource initiatives across the business (diversity and inclusion, turnover/retention initiatives, performance reviews, engagement).
- Adhere to company, federal, state, and local business requirements, enforcing compliance and demonstrate high integrity in all aspects of business.
- Maintain and build trusted relationships with peers, clients, partners, and stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3-7 years experience in Manufacturing Leadership in a similar environment
- Bachelors degree or equivalent level of experience leading people
- Must possess strong interpersonal relation and coaching skills, and be willing to give and receive feedback in an effort to learn and grow themselves and their teams
- Possess computer skills to include Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Proven ability to Manage in an ISO/AS9100 or Manufacturing environment
- Travel as needed, up to 10%
