CSI Sands (N.E.) operates state of the art sand processing facilities that enable manufacturing and refinement of proppant and construction aggregates in Brevort, MI, Buffalo, NY, Cleveland, OH, and Thunder Bay, Ontario.We are currently searching for a Production Supervisor (Night Shift) to complement our team in Buffalo, NY. The Production Supervisors will ensure all manufacturing goes smoothly and efficiently by closely monitoring how employees organize their workflows. The Production Supervisor will be an integra part of a fast-paced production environment.Reporting to the Product Fulfillment Manager, the Production Supervisor will be responsible for:
- Assign duties to employees and oversee their progress.
- Communicate objectives to the shift employees.
- Provide guidance and feedback to employees when needed.
- Ensure rules and regulations are being followed.
- Accomplish production results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- Delegate tasks to employees to ensure cleaning and upkeep of equipment.
- Resolve employee conflicts with direct help from the manager.
- Supervise staff to produce sand and organize/monitor workflow.
- Conduct regular equipment and machinery inspections to identify potential issues and coordinate maintenance to ensure repair and servicing are completed.
- Direct and make educated decisions during the shift using all available information.
- Ensure maintenance is being performed during the shift.
- Coach/Mentor employees.
- Hold employees accountable for their actions or lack thereof.
- Ensure clear and direct communication with the Manager.
- Escalate personnel issues in a timely manner.
- Serve corrective actions when warranted.
- Report any attendance issues and work with the plant manager to ensure there is coverage when needed.
- Monitor daily employee performance.
- Complete Supervisor Shift Reports that include detailed explanation of downtime.
- Ensure all Daily Inspections (Plant/Loader) are being completed.
- Ensure the integrity/quality of the finished product.
Skills and Requirements:
- Minimum 3 to 5 years solid experience as a Production Supervisor.
- Minimum 3 years in supervisory role.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is preferred.
- Strong leadership and problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal.
- Ability to organize, plan daily tasks, and make decisions with minimal supervision.
- Ability to utilize the Microsoft Office suite.
