Summary: Directs production activities for assigned shift to ensure that daily production goals and standards are met in a safe and efficient manner.Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Directs completion of assigned daily tasks.Reports progress, needs and issues to the Production Supervisor.Performs tasks of Production Specialist as needed.Monitors adherence to safety policies and proceduresSupervises production activities and manages employee performance.Ensure company programs such as ISO, HACCP and Safety are followed within the Production Department.Ensures that housekeeping requirements are maintained in accordance with GMP.Oversees training progress of department personnel.Suggests changes in working conditions and in use of equipment to increase efficiency of department or work crew.Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education/Experience:Associate's Degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school, or six months to one year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Language Ability:Demonstrated ability to make successful presentations to individuals and/or groups at all levels of an organization. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to deal effectively with a variety of individuals at all organizational levels. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public. Math Ability:Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, inventory/database software and the internet. Necessary skills include; contact management systems, database software, design software, spreadsheet and word processing softwareWork Environment:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
