Production SupervisorBENEFITS: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K AHF Products has a job opportunity for a Production Supervisor on 3rd. shift to be located in West Plains, MO. This role will pay based on experience. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Production Supervisor will be responsible for providing effective leadership, driving continuous improvement, and coordination of all production activities within a production department. Directly supervisors 30-40 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. JOB DUTIES:
  • Maintains daily safety contacts with the department employees. Conducts daily safety audit of the department, correcting unsatisfactory situations or behaviors when necessary. Conducts daily safety meetings for department.
  • Reviews production schedules daily, and assigns hourly workers as required; assures training of new personnel; resolves personnel problems; administers policies and work rules in conjunction with Human Resources department.
  • Directs and coordinates product flow through the department in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures. Schedules production to meet plant requirements as determined by Production Manager. Daily reviews production schedule for revisions and schedules maintenance and preventative maintenance for optimal product flow.
  • Tours production operations as necessary to ensure good housekeeping, safety, and material flow are maintained. Checks process performance indicators at various production stages, equipment operation, assessing progress against schedules and any problems which may arise. Makes adjustments to processes or personnel as needed to meet departmental requirements.
  • Examines daily SQDC boards; reviews standards and variances; checks operations and determines causes for variances; reviews findings with Manager on daily basis.
  • Inspects and measures parts and products to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Directs workers in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products which fail to meet standards.
  • Establishes or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Works closely with maintenance department to ensure optimal operation of equipment and machinery.
  • Maintains electronic time and production records for department. Submits required reports to Manager at shift end.
  • Utilizes principles of Lean Manufacturing to drive continuous improvements initiatives.
  • Always follow all safety guidelines in order to eliminate accidental injury.
  • Maintain property, plant, and equipment to support and improve the safe production and performance of operations.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement, also provide suggestions to improve processes and participate in team projects.
  • Be a role model for safety. Promote a zero-injury safety culture and find ways to continuously improve safety culture in the workplace.
  • Stop any observed work activities or conditions that are dangerous, illegal, or against company policy.
  • Identify safety issues in the workplace and assume responsibility to take immediate action to correct or immediately escalate to appropriate level for resolution.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be able to successfully complete and pass a background check, employment verification and drug screening.
  • Positive and Verifiable Work History.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to pass Ishihara test for color deficiency. Must be able to pass Farnsworth-Mussell 100 hue color test.
  • Must be able to attain visual acuity at 20/20, using prescriptive lenses if necessary.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies preferred.

  • Regularly exposed to extreme heat and vibration; wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places.
