We are seeking a 1st Shift Bilingual Production Supervisor to lead a Production Team at our clients company, in Newburyport, MA.
- Monday – Thursday, 6:00 am – 4:30 pm
- $65k - $75k (+ Bonus)
The ideal candidate will not just be someone who supervises the work of others. The Production Supervisor will also be responsible for coaching, resolving issues and serving as a link between hourly associates and plant management. In addition, the Supervisor will ensure that production processes deliver products of maximum quality in a profitable manner.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Focus on driving safety, quality and productivity.
- Enforce strict safety guidelines and company standards.
- Ensure employees are GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) trained and utilize the training and knowledge to produce safe quality food.
- Provide leadership and motivate others to attain high levels of employee achievement and retention.
- Train new employees on how to safely use machinery and follow processes/procedures.
- Set daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicates them to hourly associates.
- Prepare and present daily direction through meetings (Huddle Meetings) for hourly associates.
- Organize workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules.
- Monitor and prioritize workflow of production to meet deadlines.
- Check production output according to specifications and recommend continuous improvement ideas.
- Submit performance reports and identify issues in efficiency, while maximizing resources.
- Leverage continuous improvement tools to eliminate loss, optimize processes, and improve reliability.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma required (a degree in a technical, engineering, or relevant field will be an advantage)
- At least one (1) of experience in food manufacturing or manufacturing
- At least two (2) years of supervisory experience
- Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred
- Flexibility to work other shifts to include extended hours, weekends and holidays as needed
- Ability to read and write in English and to write reports legibly and accurately
- Basic to Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience using manufacturing machinery and tools
- Superb leadership and problem-solving
- Good communication skills, hands-on attitude, assertive professional manner required
- Understanding of compliance with government regulations relating to OHSA and FDA preferred
