Job Summary: Manufactures products by directing staff; organizing and monitoring workflow; and ensuring effective inter and intra department communication.Job Responsibilities:
- Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures including SQF and GMP policies.
- Maintains staff by orienting, and training employees, developing personal growth opportunities for employees.
- Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process; monitoring personnel and resources; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within the process; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
- Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
- Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards. This includes but not limited to the organization of Raw Ingredient Tracking, UHT Processing Sheets, Batching Records, Operator/ Filler sheets, CIP and SIP documentation, finished product documentation, inventory sheets, and license plate documentation.
- Ensures the operation of equipment by calling for repairs.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all machines, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Delivers corrective action to all employees when needed in a timely manner.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Communicates with all departments to ensure successful operations.
Job Qualifications:
- Supervising experience
- Some experience managing processes and production planning wanted.
Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree or a minimum of 5 years' experience in plant operations.
- 5 or more years' experience in a high-volume fluid dairy manufacturing plant with a minimum 3 years in extended shelf-life format.
Physical Requirements:
- Standing: Long periods (a minimum of 6 hours)
- Sitting: Occasionally for short periods
- Walking: Frequently
- Bending: Occasionally
- Twisting of Spine: Occasionally
- Lifting: Light (less than 30lbs) infrequently distance- 100 ft.
- Pushing/ Pulling: under 75lbs without assistance infrequently

SQF Requirements/Responsibilities:Support SQF by:
- Support SQF by maintaining food safety and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner.
- Ensure all biosecurity measures are administered.
- Support SQF by ensuring refer trailers temperature checks are tracked and necessary corrective action taken to maintain temperature compliance.
- Make the Food Safety and Policy Manuals are documented, maintained, and made available to relevant staff.
- Report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
