Job Summary:
Responsible for the labor performance of assigned production areas and overall supervision of assigned direct and indirect employees. Manages production labor to accomplish effective setup, run, and completion of product to standard quality and standard time. Enforce company policy, labor agreements, 5S conditions, and product, process, and equipment standards. Responsible for the initial training, cross-training, and deployment of labor to support the work centers in their area. Responsible for meeting internal delivery and external ship dates. Supervisors are to makes decisions based on the priority of safety first, quality second, delivery third, and cost/continuous improvement fourth.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Execute production to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost standards
Communicate and enforce standards and policies to team members in area assigned
Supervises employees to make sure work is completed and time is best utilized
Track and report labor performance, utilization, and downtime across all work centers in area
Report safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics at production reviews and other meetings
Generate and distribute daily past due list and upcoming orders list
Enforce the completion of hour-by-hour data collection with accurate reasons for missed rates
Problem-solve labor-related downtime and unmet rates with effective sustainable countermeasures
Support the implementation of OEE and other performance metrics across all work centers
Own the execution of the performance leg of OEE calculation for all assigned work centers
Lead and coach team members in improving overall performance of assigned work centers
Lead and coach team members in practical problem solving (PPS) and error proofing
Demonstrate working knowledge and understanding of processes in assigned work centers
Manage the smooth transition of production between shifts
Execute timely disciplinary action according to company policy and labor agreement
Manage the initial on-board training of direct and indirect labor
Manage the cross-training of operators to mitigate risk and meet department goals
Develop succession plans for team leads and establish well-trained designated backups
Complete safety incident reports and submit to HR within 24 hours of injury for both OSHA recordables and near misses
Work with operators, leads, and support team to identify and implement safety improvements
Request ordering of indirect material and supplies as needed through purchase requisitions
Manage the timely completion of Material Review Board (MRB) of questionable and nonconforming items
Investigates and countermeasures labor-related scrap and lost parts issues
Manage the completion of accurate and timely inventory transactions for all manufacturing work completed
Enforce the daily completion of total productive maintenance (TPM) at all work centers
Support development and implementation of the TPM process across all workstations
Support the resources needed for preventative maintenance, repairs, and other maintenance activities
Support technical team with resources needed for new product launches, engineering changes, process documents, standard development, and other improvement activities
Support technical team with resources needed for error proofing, process capability, inspections, PPAPs, MSAs, gauge calibration, and other quality activities
Participate in layered process audits, fire extinguisher audits, part identification audits, and other audits as assigned
Assist technical team in implementation of capital projects and cost-reduction projects
Enforce and demonstrate standards outlined in Quality Management System (QMS)
Manage employee timecards, call-ins, and absenteeism
Opens and closes facility on days needed to support production
Serves as a backup to shipping coordinator tasks
Verify set-ups and confirm parts to print
Promotes lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices

Welding experience preferred (for those who will be assigned to weld processes)
CNC programing experience preferred (for those who will be assigned to CNC areas)
Robotic programming experience preferred (for those who will be assigned to robotic areas)
Logistics experience preferred (for those who will be assigned to shipping)
Mechanical or industrial experience preferred (for those who will be assigned to assembly)
Microsoft Office experience required (primary Excel, PowerPoint, & Word)
Education Requirements:
Technical Associates or Bachelors degree highly preferred; 5+ years of experience
Experience Requirements

Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to work in sometimes extreme temperatures
