Responsible for upholding company Health and Safety Policies, including but not limited to maintaining Goal Zero Safety Program, AWAIR safety book and all corporate safety policies/ training, Stars Program.Ensuring a safe work environment for all employees, including providing instruction on safe operations, necessary personal protective equipment and good housekeeping.Organize and participate in the Safety Committee Meetings/ Safety ToursSupervision of hourly plant employees, including employee coaching, discipline, hiring and scheduling of work. Maintain a positive employee/owner culture where every employee has vested interest in the future of the company.Maintain good communication with the maintenance staff Deliver Forklift certification training for staffEnsuring employees receive the necessary training required to effectively perform their duties.Hold daily shift start meetings laying out a clear path for the day.Employee onboarding/ paperwork with HR assistance.Perform 90 day and yearly reviews of production staff.Monitor production flow in the plant, monitor daily operation reports/KPI on Sharepoint and Synapse:Ensuring quality standards are met in accordance with established standards.Day-to-day decision-making and problem-solving on scheduling or quality issues and co-ordinating with off-shifts to ensure good communication.Work with Manufacturing Operations Manager on the schedule for production issues/ timing.Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all production paperwork.Ensuring company policies and labor legislation obligations are enforced.Ensuring that blockmoulding production is scheduled in an efficient and effective manner to maximize plant efficiency and meet customer requirements, including maximizing yield, maintaining appropriate labour costs and effective use of material.Overseeing all shipping and receiving duties; help secure trailers /arrange shipment, print shippers/ maintain Shipping e-mail.Attend Monday morning office meeting to review Friday sales call and production week.Monitor and Maintain the Min/Max inventory list.Maintain accurate monthly inventory counts. Overseeing all stock movements, shipping arrangements and freight costs to ensure on-time deliveries and maintain accurate inventory levels.Organize a tagged and audited year end count.Learn daily production paperwork input as a back-up: All other related duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Manager.SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Experience within a manufacturing setting in a supervisory role preferred
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to coach and train employees.
- Understanding of customer requirements within the construction marketplace.
- Excellent organizational and verbal skills and above average written communication skills.
- Excellent technical skills and the ability to help troubleshoot the prefoaming, blockmoulding, and cutting processes.
- Understanding of shipping requirements including necessary paperwork and transportation requirements.
- Understanding of safety and WHMIS legislation.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Grade 12 education, with some post secondary education focusing on mechanical/technical/production areas and some business training in inventory/warehouse management, accounting, customer service and quality assurance.

Position InformationCurrently one shift, Monday-Thursday 6am to 4:30pm for production. Office works Fridays. Production Supervisor may be expected to work a Friday, if required by Operations with advance notice.
