Employment Type: Direct Hire

Location: Dallas, Texas (100% Onsite)

Work Schedule:

  • MondayFriday, occasional Saturdays as needed.
  • Supervises 1st and 2nd shifts:
  • 1st Shift: 6:00 AM 4:30 PM (MondayThursday)
  • 2nd Shift: 4:00 PM 2:30 AM (MondayThursday)

Compensation:

  • Salary: $70,000$90,000
  • Bonus: 4% annual bonus potential

Position Overview

Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a Production Supervisor on behalf of our client in Dallas, TX. This position involves overseeing the production process, supervising employees across 1st and 2nd shifts, and ensuring efficient operations in the print and packaging industry. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in printing, narrow web, flexo operation, and troubleshooting equipment malfunctions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of press operators and production teams to meet production goals.
  • Inspect materials, plates, and web to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards.
  • Direct setup and adjustments of presses with attention to detail.
  • Perform minor repairs on equipment and ensure proper maintenance.
  • Review production schedules, estimate worker hour requirements, and assign duties to meet deadlines.
  • Enforce safety regulations and promote adherence to company policies.
  • Implement and follow Lean Manufacturing procedures and suggest process improvements.
  • Train and guide team members on proper equipment use and production techniques.
  • Motivate and evaluate team performance, addressing any work-related challenges.
  • Maintain organized production records and ensure cleanliness in work areas.

Qualifications

  • Education:
  • Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school is preferred.
  • Experience:
  • At least 5 years of experience in printing, packaging, or a similar industry.
  • Prior supervisory or lead experience (minimum 2 years).
  • Hands-on experience with narrow web printing, flexo operation, and troubleshooting.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of job scheduling and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regular standing and walking during shifts.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (mechanical assistance available for heavier loads).
  • Specific vision abilities, including close vision, color vision, and depth perception.
