Currently we are seeking a Production Supervisor to join our second shift team and be an essential part of our manufacturing team. This person will be responsible for multiple leads, several lines, or multiple functions in New Way Trucks production. They hold team members accountable for efficiency, quality, safety and compliance with the company policy. They supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in the processing and/or development of a product. This position reports to the Fabrication and Staging Manager. Your Role in Our Mission:
  • Provide training and development opportunities for team members.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and address any personnel issues.
  • Coordinates absences and supervisor coverage with other 2nd Shift Supervisor for both regular and overtime shifts.
  • Inspect finished work to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve quality issues as they arise.
  • Evaluate and improve processes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of materials to prevent spoilage or damage.
  • Assure compliance of hazardous materials both in storage and waste disposal. Commits to continuous training, auditing, and regular schedule of removal.
  • Monitor processes to ensure uniformity and adherence to guidelines.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects and capitalize on training opportunities to develop managerial skillset
  • Routine reports out to Manager of team output, opportunities, support needs, etc.
  • Provide a safe work environment and assure that team members follow safe work practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity and assist with implementation of changes.
  • Supervise and direct efforts of staff, ensuring all work is coordinated, downtime is minimized, and product meets established quality standards.
  • Works to develop procedures and techniques to reduce process variation and manufacturing delays, while increasing productivity.
  • Justifies headcount requests, participates in hiring process and creates expectations of an employee.
  • Manages performance and works with HR in situations requiring disciplinary process.
  • Communicate with other departments to ensure proper materials and equipment are provided for the team members.
  • Review and approve weekly payroll within policy and meet deadlines.
  • Maintains inventory records and supplies to meet delivery schedules.
  • Coordinates production schedule with support departments and resolves production problems related to methods, tools, materials, and manpower.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams for any major repairs or upgrades.
  • Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of issues.
  • Ensure all work performed meets company standards and complies with safety requirements.
  • Communicate expectations and challenges to team members.
To Perform your Job Successfully:
  • Five years of related experience with at least 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to plan and implement changes.
  • Math skills include good understanding of fractions and angles.
  • Ability to read blueprint drawings and cut lists.
  • Computer skills including ability to use and create word documents, spread sheets as well as utilize Payroll, and Enterprise Resource Planning software.
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance in accordance with company attendance policies.
