**Production Support Specialist - 2nd Shift**

**Location:** Leavenworth, KS, US, 66048

The Production Support Specialist position reports through the Leavenworth Production Center and may be in several departments (Specialty, Roll Wrap, Tissue, Bows, Webtron, Ribbon). Individuals in these departments have a variety of duties that support the production departments in various ways.

**The Production Support Specialist position in Leavenworth is on 2nd shift (3:30pm to Midnight), Monday through Friday.**

The Production Support Specialist in Leavenworth performs a variety of roles to support the production lines throughout the plant, which may include jogging stock, stacking product, keeping production lines supplied with stock and supplies, changing materials/stock on equipment, assembling cartons, packing product into cartons, moving boxes to skids, labeling cartons, assisting the press operator with make-readies and press clean-ups, or mixing adhesives. As a Production Support Specialist, the incumbent performs make-readies and operates equipment which may include sealing, accumulating, punching, scrapping/extracting, or shrink wrapping product. Performs equipment adjustments, troubleshoots problems and/or equipment malfunctions, and performs routine preventive maintenance. In supporting production, the incumbent performs a variety of roles which may include jogging stock, stacking product, keeping production lines supplied with stock and supplies, changing materials/stock on equipment, assembling cartons, packing product into cartons, moving boxes to skids, labeling cartons, assisting the press operator with make-readies and press clean-ups, or mixing adhesives.

The Production Support Specialist is responsible for ordering stock or components, moving components and/or product in and out of areas by using hand or powered transport equipment, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Adheres to quality standards and procedures and initiates adjustments as needed to correct product and/or packaging defects. Completes required paperwork and/or computer input on specific SAP screens to confirm production, and spoilage/scrap. Prints out shipping documents at work center and affixes to stock. Positively participates in performance dialogues and other team problem solving activities. Incumbent cannot only identify potential problems, but also shows a willingness to proactively work on problem resolution and alternative solutions. Flexibility is key as the incumbent will move to different work areas as needed, and may alternate breaks and lunch with the operator to keep the equipment running. The incumbent is expected to learn and perform multiple assignments within the job classification.

Position may be in different departments (Specialty, Roll wrap, Tissue, Webtron, Ribbon) and incumbent will be expected to learn and perform multiple assignments within this job classification.

In this position you will:

* Perform make ready procedures, operate equipment and make equipment adjustments, as well as trouble shoot equipment malfunctions, and perform preventive maintenance on the equipment.

* Prepare equipment to run and maintains or exceeds quality and product expectations. Must be able to perform a variety of roles which may include ordering components, moving stock or components in and out of areas by using a hand or powered transport equipment, jogging and stacking of stock, keeping production lines supplied with stock and supplies, assembling cartons, changing materials/stock on equipment, labeling and packing cartons, moving boxes to skids, assisting the press operator with make readies and press clean ups, or mixing adhesives.

* Achieve and continually improve specified production including production goals, throughput, etc. during training. Participate in performance dialogues and team problem-solving activities.

* Complete regular press maintenance and cleaning, including TPMs. Move skids of stock into and away from the press, including completion of related paperwork. Transport and handle hazardous waste material in accordance with all Federal, State, and Local regulations. Be certified to operate power lift equipment and skid inverting machine.

* Complete required paperwork and computer input on specific SAP screens to confirm production, and spoilage/scrap.

* Demonstrate the flexibility and teamwork to positively influence how goals are accomplished within shorter periods of time. Effectively communicate information to the next shift to ensure consistency and continuous operation.

* Utilize good safety practices.

**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**

* High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent

* Ability to grasp, lift and carry product weighing 20 50 lbs. frequently and up to 60 lbs. occasionally

* Ability to constantly stand and/or walk

* Ability to frequently reach, twist, bend, perform repetitive hand/wrist motion and fine motor skills, and work at or above shoulder level

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**

* Experience running production equipment

* Basic math, written and oral communication skills

* Ability to organize and set-up work area and reorganize as priorities change. Ability to work under pressure

* Ability to understand the computer and ordering systems and successfully operate both systems

* Ability to understand and follow established safety procedures and transport hazardous waste material in accordance with all Federal, State, and Local regulations

* Ability to accept other duties as assigned

* Ability to learn and retain knowledge

* Ability to work in a team environment and be able to contribute positively during problem solving sessions

**ADDITIONAL DETAILS**

* Work overtime as required during peak seasons

* Must pass certification to operate power lift equipment and skid inverting machine

* This is a climate-controlled manufacturing environment with normal physical injury hazard

* There is some noise and hearing protection is required by Hallmark.

* There is no waiting period requirement from the effective date of a change through Job Posting. However, if an employee is offered a new position, but has been in their current position for less than 12 months, the current manager has the discretion to not approve the move.

This position is located in Leavenworth, Kansas. Relocation is not provided.
