Job Description **Job Summary:** The main responsibility is for the daily activities that drive the overall results of the production department. The team leader reports to the Senior Production Team Leader with support responsibilities to all production personnel.
**Essential Job Functions (*=Non-essential tasks):**
The following is a representation of the types of activities the Team Leader will be expected to perform and is not all-inclusive.
* Equipment uptime
* Team problem solving
* Process audits/ensuring processes are being followed
* Assist Production Staff as needed
* Facilitate communication between shifts and Production Staff
* Assist in the coordination of work from shift to shift
* Assist in developing and maintaining training programs
* Provide required training to all production employees
* Assist in developing and maintaining work instructions
* Resolve problem orders by communicating with office personnel
* Assist with continuous improvement efforts
* Work with hourly and office personnel on process improvements
* Ensure safety policies are followed
* Serve as a member of the safety committee
* Ensure that employees are complying with shop rules
* Ensure that the proper resources and supplies are available to complete required work
* Complete required paperwork accurately and on time
* Conduct five-minute meetings as required
* Assist with the implementation of the 5S program
**Requirements**
**Skills and Abilities:**
* Strong technical knowledge of the processes is required
* Excellent attendance and willingness to work overtime or flexible hours as required
* Safety and Quality conscious
* Basic math and business writing skills
* Problem solving skills
* Legible handwriting
* Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Positive can-do attitude
* Action oriented
**Experience:**
* Broad based experience in the production processes
* Lean Manufacturing concepts
* Prior leadership experience
**Education:**
* A minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent
* Additional course work in Lean Manufacturing experience/training is preferred
**Working Environment:**
* Incumbent will be working in an office and Production environment
* Must be able to sit, Stand and walk during their shift
* The incumbent may be required to travel a few times a year
