The Lebermuth Company is currently looking for 2nd Shift Team Leader to join our Manufacturing team. Lebermuth is a family owned, ingredient manufacturer, specializing in essential oils and custom-developed fragrance and flavor blends. Summary:

As the Production Team Leader, you will plan, coordinate, lead, supervise, and participate in the daily activities of production to ensure production output, quality, cost management, safety compliance, GMPs, and production schedules meet or exceed business and customer objectives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

* Manages the coordination and utilization of equipment, materials, and people to ensure product is finished within budget and in accordance with SQF, GMP's, HACCP, and all other governmental policies, procedures, and regulations.

* Works with peer Team Leads, Production Supervisor and Director of Operations to ensure production schedules are aligned to materials and capacity, and executed as planned to meet quality, quantity, and safety standards.

* Handles product inspections to ensure all products meet required specifications and documentation is completed in accordance with Lebermuth procedures.

* Collaborates with peer Team Leads, Production Supervisor, and Training Specialist to develop, update, and maintain SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) to drive consistency and optimize performance.

* Collaborates with the maintenance team to coordinate and execute preventative maintenance plans on equipment and machinery to ensure efficient and safe operating conditions.

* Leads and participates in the production processes to ensure output, product specifications, quality and safety standards are maintained or enhanced, in accordance with Lebermuth, state and federal regulations and business KPI's.

* Works with the Production Supervisor and Director of Operations to plan, create and implement programs to control and optimize production processes.

* Collaborates with production team members to investigate, diagnose, and resolve production issues in a timely manner.

* Monitors team staffing levels and participates in recruiting activities, as needed, to ensure the department is continuously staffed to meet the needs of the business.

* Leads, trains, mentors, and coaches the team to ensure optimal performance and success is achieved while growing the overall competencies of the team.

* Works with the Manufacturing Training Specialist to facilitate training on relevant topics (i.e., Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), project management, safety, Lean, etc.) to ensure team members are up to date on all required training.

* Provides backup Support to other shift Team Leads, Production Planning and Shipping Schedule.

* Participates in quarterly Team Lead and Supervisor meeting.

* Strives to promote a safe food culture by maintaining a clean and organized workspace and adhering to all quality and safety standards within the department to ensure the safe production and shipment of quality food products.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has direct responsibility for hourly manufacturing employees in Production and support areas.

Requirements

Qualifications:

* Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

* Experience: 3 + years of related experience and/or training in leading production lines and leading others, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Certifications: Ability to become forklift certified and certified for use/wear of specific personal protective equipment. Valid Driver's License Required.

* Functional Skills: Ability to analyze data/information and make sound business decisions. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Basic understanding of percentages. Ability to recognize and follow alpha and numeric sequences. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Adept at using logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems. Interested in precision work; exhibits attention to detail. Organized in performing work. Ability to exercise sound and accurate judgment. Ability to prioritize and plan work activities without explicit direction on each task. Demonstrate ability to proficiently operate all operator positions within the work cells they lead.

* Technology Aptitude/Skills: Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office products. Working knowledge of manufacturing, inventory control and order processing software. Strong working knowledge and experience with ERP systems.

* Language Skills: Solid written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read and understand documents such as shop order tickets, safety rules, memos, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

* Ability to use hands and fingers to operate hand tools/equipment and machinery frequently

* Ability to operate keyboard and view computer screen occasionally

* Ability to read and respond due to nature of the work on a frequent basis

* Lifting to 35 lbs. regularly and up to 50lbs sporadically; Ability to move 55-gallon drums regularly through a shift with assistance (i.e., drum carts, forklifts)

* This position is regularly exposed to a manufacturing environment where the noise level is moderate.

* The employee is required to wear personal protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, ear plugs, and steel toed shoes.

* The position may face exposure to some variances in temperature, perfumes, and airborne particles.

* Employees may work a 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift, generally Monday through Friday, but weekly hours and number of days per week may vary. Overtime is sometimes necessary to ensure business and customer needs are met.
