Job Description:SUMMARY OF POSITION:This position will primarily consist of performing preventative maintenance on assigned equipment as required and performing routine maintenance on equipment. This may include installing equipment, performing testing on equipment, making adjustments and repairs to equipment and troubleshooting.Essential Functions:* Make repairs and perform preventative maintenance on all warehouse equipment* Ability to use hand and power tools and repair as needed* Troubleshoot issues on equipment to efficiently repair or replace problems to include component level replacement.* Perform PLC Programming and troubleshoot carton routing system issues* Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation: listening for problems, using precision measuring and testing instruments* Identify, remove, repair or replace defective parts and plan for corrective prevention* Maintains equipment, parts and supplies/inventories and order as needed* Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures. Train aspects and processes of safety* Perform routine maintenance around the buildings such as fixing structural damage* Assist in the Maintenance of HVAC equipment in order to keep climate control in the facility* Operates all types of powered industrial vehicles, including boom lift and sweeper/scrubber. Basic troubleshooting required* Work in non-climatically controlled environment throughout the year* Ability to read and understand a Safety Data Sheet* Must be able to read and comprehend work requests and be able to communicate well with others* General understanding of the fire system, react, troubleshoot, and notify management of issuesOther Responsibilities* Repair broken or leaking plumbing and restore full use of water fixtures to include running new plumbing* Locate and review outside vendors work* Adheres to facility hours to include overtime and weekends* Maintains positive and respectful attitude while working independently and in a team environment* Oversee small projects where direction may need to be given to team membersPhysical Requirements:* Must be able to work in high elevations with the use of Personal Protective Equipment as required* Must be 18 years of age* Must be able to wear steel toe shoes* Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.* Refer to Physical Demand Analysis (PDA) for complete physical requirementsQualificationsQualifications:* Proficient in the use of PC's.* Work flexible hours and overtime as requested* 4+ years maintenance experience in a warehouse or similar field* 2 year degree or equivalent in Maintenance role* Demonstrated ability to complete tasks with no direction, and self-assign new task* Above average communication and interpersonal skills* Skilled in use of all hand and power tools* Must pass a company paid drug screen* Allen Bradley PLC Programming Experience preferred* 1 year of HVAC preferred* 2 years of carpentry preferred* Must possess a valid Missouri state driver's license* Must pass a company paid drug screen* Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs* Must have above average understanding of Plumbing, Carpentry, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Painting and Electrical skills* Must have above exceptional mechanical repair experience* Possess good oral and written communication skills* Reading and basic understanding math required* Must have a team player mindset.* Must have excellent attendance, excellent job performance reviews, and a clean safety record.* Knowledge of OSHA 10 preferred* Must have a Safety Mindset with focus on accident avoidanceTime Type:Full timeJob Type:RegularJob Family Group:Distrib & Matls MgmtLocation Region/State:MissouriEEO Statement:Scholastic is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
