Job Description:
Astrodyne TDI is seeking a dedicated Production Technician with a passion for electronics and a hands-on approach to join our dynamic team. As a Production Technician specializing in EMI Filters, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing process. You will work closely with our production supervisor on various tasks, including assembly, testing, failure analysis, and troubleshooting of EMI filters.Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Proficiency: Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions to understand and work with electronic circuitry.
  • Hands-On Assembly: Utilize hand and power tools to assemble electronic components, ensuring precision and quality.
  • Troubleshooting Expertise: Diagnose and rectify malfunctions in circuitry and system structures, contributing to seamless operations.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with engineers and fellow professionals on technical tasks, fostering a team-oriented work environment.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks and meticulously document actions by completing quality forms, ensuring that our products meet stringent quality standards.
  • Preparation: Prepare work tasks by studying parts lists, gathering necessary parts, assemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Soldering Skills: Position parts and assemblies on PCBs, utilizing templates, reading measurements, and demonstrating proficiency with a soldering iron.
  • Testing and Verification: Verify specifications by testing completed components, ensuring they meet required standards.
  • Problem Solving: Resolve assembly issues by making dimensional adjustments as needed and promptly notifying supervisors for additional support.
  • Safety and Maintenance: Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to procedures and regulations. Perform preventative maintenance on equipment to keep it operational.
Qualifications:
  • Education: A minimum of a high school diploma/GED is required. An Associate's degree in Electronic Technology or a related field is preferred
  • Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of experience troubleshooting and testing electronic components, preferably in RF Tuning
  • Safety Mindset: A strong focus on safety and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Manual Dexterity: Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination, including the ability to handle and assemble small electronic components.
  • Communication Skills: Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and convey technical information.
  • Computer Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and data entry.
  • Test Equipment: Familiarity with electronic test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMM), and other relevant tools.
  • Color Recognition: Ability to distinguish between different colors, which may be important when working with color-coded components.
