Job DescriptionABOUT THE ROLE: This role will be on a rotating shift and responsible for the operation from the SBS to the Forehearth.This role will be responsible for the safe operation of the raw material system, melting and fining of the glass, and delivering glass quality for container forming machines. Also, will be involved in organizing and executing hot holds, startup and shutdown related activities.Will work in shifts, ensuring the uninterrupted operation of the submerged combustion melting machine, the finer, the forehearth, and the support systems, including, among others, exhaust, cooling and batch systems.Additionally will give support to other Plant areas whenever is needed, following our culture of teamwork and collaboration.Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for raw material unloading, monitoring raw material weight system, and assuring the correct delivery to the melter.
- Will monitor the fusion process and make appropriate changes based on the situation.
- Respond to alarms and identify malfunctions, correct operation and/or refer to supervision.
- Troubleshooting minor problems with industrial equipment and perform routine preventive maintenance.
- Perform quality glass controls and enter data into the correct quality spreadsheet.
- Collaborate with teammates on completing non-routine tasks related to, hot holds, start-ups and shut-downs.
- Produce accurate and concise system status reports as requested.
- Think analytically and propose process improvements.
- Perform daily line cleaning and 5S to maintain a clean working environment.
- Monitor the feeding process and respond to alarms as required.
Travel Requirements:Minimal travel with a couple of opportunities annually. QualificationsAbout You:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 5 years of manufacturing or production experience preferred
- Familiarity with high-temperature industrial processes and controls.
- Ability to set-up and operate equipment
- Familiarity with high speed industrial production lines
- Basic computer knowledge to include experience with Process Controllers and MS Office or similar desktop related applications
- Be familiar with high-speed industrial production lines
- Be a good communicator and understand that teamwork is an important key to success
- Have ability to work to a shift schedule (day and night shift, 12 hours)
- Electrical and Electromechanical experience will be a plus.
- Desirable Forklift license.
