Position Description As a Welder at TMC Vibration Control, you will be an integral part of our manufacturing team, responsible for high-quality welding on a variety of materials and components. You will utilize both MIG and TIG welding techniques to ensure precision and strength in welded joints. Additionally, the ability to operate and program robotic welding systems is a strong asset for this position, as we integrate automation into our fabrication processes. This role requires attention to detail, craftsmanship, and a commitment to maintaining the highest safety and quality standards in a fast-paced production environment.Key Responsibilities
  • Perform MIG and TIG welding on a variety of materials, including steel and aluminum, following engineering specifications and blueprints.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment, ensuring proper machine calibration and functionality for each job.
  • Inspect welds and finished products for quality and adherence to project requirements, adjusting as needed to maintain high standards.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to ensure all welding work aligns with project timelines and specifications.
  • Utilize hand tools, grinders, and other equipment to prepare materials and finalize welded components.
  • Safely operate and maintain welding equipment and tools, performing regular maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance.
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols in all welding operations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and awareness of potential hazards in the fabrication environment.
  • (Preferred) Program and operate robotic welding systems to enhance production efficiency, ensuring proper setup and execution of automated welding processes.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and weld symbols to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing welding processes, reducing waste, and improving production speed and quality.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; certifications in welding or a related technical field are a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience welding in a manufacturing or fabrication setting.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, with proficiency in reading schematics, blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
  • Experience in setting up and operating welding equipment, including both manual and automated systems.
  • Familiarity with quality control procedures, including inspecting and testing assembled components.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of materials, including steel and aluminum, and the ability to adapt welding techniques as required.
  • (Preferred) Experience in operating and programming robotic welding systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to inspect and ensure weld quality.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and protocols for welding in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
