Multi-state commercial insurance carrier is seeking a Product Business Analyst based in their Long Beach, NY location. In this role, the right applicant will gain exposure in working with commercial auto insurance products. The primary purpose of this role is to provide analytical and project support to underwriting departments as well as contribute to product development across the company. Key Accountabilities/Deliverables:
- Support a company-wide systems migration
- Contribute to new product/project development through requirements gathering, testing, and training.
- Evaluate existing workflows and develop solutions for business process improvements.
- Collaborate with key personnel for the purpose of identifying and delivering scheduled and ad-hoc reports to underwriting departments and executives.
- Extract and compile data from various sources to analyze and interpret profitability and industry trends.
- Conduct data quality review of policy files and systems data, including a quarterly underwriting file audit
- Quantitative analyses to draw valid conclusions for business decisions.
- Research and review new third-party/public data sources pertinent to the company.
- Assist with preparation of presentations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by CUO, SVP, VP and AVP.
Experience: - Bachelor's degree required - math, statistics, economics, and business preferred
- Prior insurance experience is preferred
- Proficiency with Excel is preferred
- Be able to think analytically, systemically, and conceptually
- Quick learner with excellent attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, including an ability to clearly interpret and relay information in a clear and concise manner
- Strong time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills
- Ability to pivot easily and frequently
The expected pay range for the role is $75,000 - $85,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant's skills and experiences. The disclosed pay range estimate may also be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
