Provides professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural or other professional support functions. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.Unit Position SummaryThe Neighborhood Student Success Center (NSSC) Professional Aide provides office management in 1 of 5 Neighborhood Engagement Centers and collaborates with Neighborhood Staff. They provide support with the supervision, recruitment, hiring and mentoring of Peer Assistants (PA) and the marketing student intern. The Professional Aide serves as the assistant to the Neighborhood Director of assigned centers. They also manage center resources and assist with the scheduling of events, plan meetings and provide student success support for NSSC programs and services. The Professional Aide is responsible for Marketing support, Website administrator/Internal communications, assisting with event planning, social media management, creating graphic flyer content, supervision with student staff, and HR/Business documentation.Professional Aide Focus Area (60%)The Professional Aide focus areas represent an area of expertise where the individual staff person provides broader coordination on the behalf of the Neighborhood Engagement Center staff from all five (5) Neighborhoods.Website Administrator/ Internal Communications & MaterialsDevelop effective communication strategies for the NSSC website development, maintenance, and functionality.Coordinate with external vendors for quotes and purchasing to be submitted.Manage and update website content in collaboration with Neighborhood Staff, ensuring it is accurate and up-to-date.Coordinate with external website partners regarding website edits/updates.Monitor website analytics and track content performance.Conduct research to guide website content strategy.Marketing SupportOversee marketing content for the NSSC.Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate marketing student intern.Create graphic designs for promotional materials and social media marketing.Manage and develop marketing content for social media platforms.Monitor social media analytics.Conduct research to guide social media content strategy.Neighborhood Events PlanningWork closely with Neighborhood Engagement Center staff in the coordination and planning of events and/or activities associated with university partners or internal to the unit related to student success resources and activities.Office Management (40%)Know and utilize various technical and operational systems such as Microsoft Office, Canva, Adobe, Instagram, D2L, EAB, ESAF, Zoom, Ultratime payroll system, Digital Sign Generator, 25live, and a multi-line phone system.Conduct general office management processes including the ordering of supplies as well as managing the Engagement Center (EC) resources calendar.Coordinate, attend and provide support for meetings and work collaboratively with university partners.Manage and sort data for student support outreach and initiatives and input data collection into multiple NSSC databases.Maintain and manage signage (i.e. field requests for new digital signs) and other promotional materials.Hire, train, supervise and evaluate undergraduate Peer Assistants (PA) who have the responsibility to work at the engagement center front desk assisting students with advising appointments, project assignments/tasks, and directing them to resources. Hire, train, supervise and evaluate marketing intern who is responsible for taking pictures at program events, assisting with graphic designs, and social media page under the direction of the Professional Aide.Assist NSSC Budget Manager with reviewing Neighborhood documents pertaining to travel pre-trip authorizations, and other documentation review as needed.Desired QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have knowledge of office management and marketing, brand, and communication. Knowledge of computer software and usage (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, scheduling, internet browsers, etc.).
