The Graduate College of the University of Oklahoma is excited to announce our search for a Professional Development & Engagement Manager We seek someone who can help us work with faculty, departments, and students to strengthen graduate education across campus, provide better support for graduatestudents and provide support to our postdoctoral researchers. This will be a position with research opportunities into designing and implementing evidence-based programming. The Graduate College is a supportive workplace with an outstanding professional staff, and we are looking for an energetic and committed professional to join our team. Research existing initiatives at other institutions, survey the academic literature on empirical effectiveness, and make a strong case for new programs. Write grants and internal funding requests to support initiatives. Oversee the budget, logistics and planning for all programs. Work closely with academic units to understand their unique needs. Create curricula and workshop content that can be delivered by qualified faculty and staff Organize and train faculty and staff members to deliver workshops and trainings Deliver workshops and trainings to academic units, faculty members, postdocs and graduate students. Develop new content as requested by these groups. Use quantitative and qualitative empirical measures to study the effectiveness of programs and to make improvements as indicated through assessment. Support recruiting initiatives, including initiatives with minority-serving institutions. Provide direct mentoring, coaching, and support for graduate students and postdocs. Oversee an advisory council composed of graduate students and postdocs Hire, train, supervise and evaluate staff, graduate assistants and student workers as needed. Plan special events for recruiting, recognition, and student support Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position
