ECU Health Medical Center has achieved Magnet designation twice and provides acute and intermediate care, rehabilitation and outpatient health services to a 29-county region that is home to more than 1.4 million people.Position SummaryProfessional Development Specialist (Nursing) inspires professional nurses through human connections, innovation and experiential learning, utilizing evidence-based practice with the goal of advancing the mission of ECU Health.Responsibilities* Serve as Nurse Planner for continuing nursing education.* Develop and evaluate core curricula.* Lead experiential learning activities through innovative teaching and learning methods.* Validates clinical performance.* Develop, implement and evaluate teaching and learning experiences to continuously improve quality, experience, and finance outcomes.* Establish effective communication networks with unit and organization leadership.* Creates a supportive environment for nursing research/EBP/QI and integrating into practice.* Disseminate research findings through educational programs and other activities (internal and external).* Facilitate orientation processes, nurse residency program, and role transitions.Minimum Requirements* MSN in Nursing Education or MSN with Postmasters Certificate in Education is required- or higher.* Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of North Carolina Development Specialist.* Nursing will be required to obtain Nursing Professional Development Certification within 3 years.* 3 years to 5 years in clinical practice with evidence of clinical knowledge, leadership, and teaching.General StatementIt is the goal of ECU Health and its entities to employ the most qualified individual who best matches the requirements for the vacant position.Offers of employment are subject to successful completion of all pre-employment screenings, which may include an occupational health screening, criminal record check, education, reference, and licensure verification.We value diversity and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
