Professional Interstate DriverDepartment: TruckingEmployment Type: Full TimeLocation: ChicagoDescriptionCadogan Tate Chicago Limited has an exciting position available for a Professional Driver. The essential duties of this role are to work on all aspects of residential removals, collections, deliveries and installations of personal effects, art and antiques under the management of immediate supervisor. We are looking for skilled Movers (Foreman experience preferred) with box truck driving experience, art and furniture handling experience is a bonus. Due to high volume of applicants, only those who have relevant experiences will be contacted. This position is Full Time working Monday through Friday and some weekends. The company provides competitive hourly pay and excellent benefits. The salary depends on applicant's driving and moving experience. The candidate must be able to provide proof of authorization to work in the U.S.Key Responsibilities
  • The successful candidate will have the following attributes:
    • Three years of experience in residential moving and art handling industry; packing, handling and installing art, furniture and antiquities on a local and interstate basis (e.g. Mover, Foreman, Mover/Driver is applicable for this position)
    • Experience driving a Box Truck (16 ~26 ft trucks)
    • A knowledge of proper handling of art, antiquities and high-end furniture using the appropriate materials and methods for packaging, loading and securing for safe transport
    • Familiarity with paperwork; Bills of Lading, Condition Reports, Inventory, Drivers Logs, etc.
    • Must be able to lift 70lbs
    • Ability to thrive in a busy environment
    • Experience as a Foreman is a bonus

Skills Knowledge and Expertise• IL Class C and Medcard or equivalent• High school diploma / GED required• Three years of experience in moving industry. Packing, handling and installing art, furniture and antiquities is considered as beneficial to the position• Three years of logistical, warehousing and moving experience• Understanding warehouse of inventory processes • Ability to learn how to improve on handling furniture, art and antiquities from collection through to installation • Excellent problem-solving skills• Familiarity with OSHA regulations• Excellent organizational and time management skills• Impeccable communication and multitasking skills• Ability to accurately execute detailed paperwork and condition reporting• Team player, able to work with all levels of staff in a dynamic environment• Professional demeanor at all times• Experience with the use of hand trucks, pallet jacks, jbars, dollies and other necessary logistics equipment• Ability to safely lift 70 pounds and maneuver objects of substantial size and weight on a daily basis without damage to object or person, including the ability to push and pull 150 pounds on a dolly or cart• Ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, crouch, twist and reach overhead• Warehouse: Loading, unloading and shelving items. Completing intake paperwork• Collections and deliveries on a daily basis, locally and interstate as needed• Handle and control all paperwork when on site or working in the field, including all condition reporting for goods• Ensure vehicle used is always safe, clean and prepared for the day or trip as required, verify what goods are needed at the start of every day or trip based on the daily trip sheet or trip manifest• Ensure all modifications to daily trip manifest are reported and verified by the Dispatch Manager prior to making any modifications• Proper handling, of art objects, fragile and artistic material, antique and fine furniture• Assist with installation projects• Preparation of condition checks and condition reports as needed• Ability to learn to Pack artworks, antiquities and fine furniture for transportation and storage• Training lower grade art handlers when required• Assist in the loading and unloading of Cadogan Tate trucks• Ensure a high degree of detail and focus on every job• On occasion you may be required to start your day or end your day at a location other than Cadogan Tate Limited, in these instances you are required to complete a manual time sheet and to have this signed by the supervisor or your manager within 24 hours of the start or end of the day.Benefits
