Job DescriptionPosition Purpose: Responsible for scheduling on farm trips or clinic schedules, setting up work areas, assisting veterinarians chute side, and other daily lab activities. Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and schedules on farm trips and trip to other Trans Ova day centers.
- Maintains good relationships with Trans Ova clients, including following up and calling on clients.
- Actively seeks new business opportunities.
- Assists veterinarians or flush technicians.
- Sets up filters, medias and supplies used during the collection of embryos.
- Prepares, sets up, and organizes work area.
- Prepares search, holding, wash and freezing medias.
- Appropriately rinses, searches, washes, and accurately grades embryos according to IETS protocols.
- Freezes embryos for storage in liquid nitrogen.
- Oocyte searching and evaluation for IVF.
- Maintains good laboratory techniques and follows lab protocol.
- Monitors and records temperatures, lot numbers, and other appropriate information.
- Appropriately labels straws, canes and goblets according to Trans Ova policy and IETS protocol.
- Completes documentation of pertinent information in daily log book.
- Review and records results accurately.
- Keeps accurate inventory and reorders supplies when needed.
- Monitors and fills nitrogen storage tanks when needed.
- Communicates with sales, marketing, veterinarians, recipient herdsman and embryologist manager.
- Communicates openly and honestly with team members and supervisor.
- Inputs data from flushes and transfers on farm and in clinic.
- Records incoming and outing embryos.
- Maintains embryo inventories.
- Follows procedures according to Sarbanes Oxley standards.
- Follows Trans Ova's policies.
- Maintains a professional image reflective of Trans Ova's industry position.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education Requirements: B.S. in Animal Science or Biology or a Veterinary Technician degree; GPA 3.0 or better. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Ability to travel during seasonal spikes (April - June, November & December) up to five days a week. Ability to put in long days (up to 14 hours) during the seasonal spikes. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to sit for long periods of time. Other skills/experience: Must have valid driver's license. Must be able to operate a company vehicle. Good communication and client service skills.
