Position Summary The Professional Support Legal Assistant (PSLA) assists the Firm's team of Professional Support Lawyers (PSLs) in the Americas. This position reports to one designated PSL who will onboard and supervise. The PSLA will provide organizational support for training programs organized by PSLs, ensuring the smooth running of sessions.
Duties and Accountabilities 1 - Support for training programs includes, but is not limited to:
- Preparing course forms and meeting room requests
- Coordinating with concierge booking team, central training team, and speakers
- Tracking attendance for all scheduled training sessions
- Liaising with other offices to set up video conference links
- Reminding speakers in advance of sessions
- Setting up conference rooms for training sessions
- Following up with audio visual teams for edited video recordings
- Assist PSLs with maintaining the knowledge-related aspects of Americas resources on Connect (the Firm's intranet)
- Assist with maintaining internal databases, including additions to the Knowledge Bank, Preferred Local Counsel and Translator Referral System
- Provide direct support to attorneys to assist them with locating practice-related internal and external training and other knowledge resources
- Track completion of Electronic Closing Binders (ECBs) and Matter Profile Questionnaires (MPQs)
- Assist in the maintenance of practice notes and standard forms
- Participate in regular meetings of the Americas and Global Professional Support function and liaise with other PSLs/PSLAs to facilitate sharing of best practices and knowledge
- Work collaboratively with the firm's Research, Practice Technology, Learning & Development, Audio Visual, Concierge, and Technology teams
Qualifications - College graduate
- Experience in legal training or learning and development within law firms or other professional services firms strongly preferred
- High professional standards with keen attention to detail
- Strong administrative organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and flexible with the ability to work individually and collaboratively. Willing to take on new projects and learn new skills
- Excellent IT skills, especially MS Office and document management systems
- A working understanding of law firms
Location & Reporting - This role is a hybrid based in our New York office.
- This role reports to a dedicated Professional Support Lawyer within the team.
