We work every day for a fair and just society where all people have the opportunity to make choices that lead to better lives for themselves and their families.Intro/Program Description:Goddard Riverside Community Center (GRCC) Learning to Work (LTW) for Transfer SchoolsProgram at Edward Reynolds West Side High School provides students over-aged and under-credited ages 16 -21 with services and opportunities to foster engagement through academic and personal development that lead to earning a high school diploma. Primary goals include getting students to graduate with realistic and meaningful post-secondary plans, gain knowledge and skills that will increase the employability and awareness of post-high school opportunities available to them. Some opportunities include higher education, trade/technical schools and community service programs. Using the Primary Person Model, each student has an LTW Staff Member as a support to minimize and/or remove barriers toward graduation including engaging students in college preparation, and meaningful career exploration including subsidized internships, academic and personal support services to increase self-direction and self-sufficiency.Purpose of Position:The LTW Program Aide will provide logistical and administrative support and assist in implementing other aspects of the LTW model and seamless partnership with partner high school to promote the goals of the students and the program. The Program Aide will play an integral role in working alongside the LTW team to perform a variety of administrative and programmatic duties including student outreach and enrollment, program data tracking, office management, and providing a welcome environment within the LTW program and the school community.Schedule: Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (some evening and weekend hours)Hourly Rate:$16.68Roles, Responsibilities, and Essential DutiesAdministrative DutiesIntake and enrollment of all LTW participants, including applications, consent forms, and hiring documentsRecord service/progress notes for students including but not limited to attendance outreach, individual counseling, career and college advisement, tutoring, and seminar in web-based data collection systems (i.e. LTW tracking forms, Skedula, etc.).Maintain and organize all required records and files according to organization and contractual requirements and standards, including time sheets, assessments, evaluations, incident reports, etc.Track students' academic and attendance progress throughout the yearPrepare LTW reports, memos, and documentsMonitor and maintain inventory of office supplies and maintain program calendarInput purchase requisitions and check requests on IntacctProvide core administrative support including copying, scanning, faxing, and filingProgrammatic SupportCoordinate new student admission process including outreach, open houses/intake interviews, new student orientations, parent orientations, among others)Assist with the development of internship worksites and monitoring including weekly site visits and data collectionCollaborate in the onboarding process of interns, creating work schedules, and timesheet reviewStudent SupportProvide primary person services to a small caseload of participants as neededProvide attendance outreach through phone calls, morning wake-up calls, letters, case conferencing and/or home visitsCreate and maintain a working-alliance with StudentsAdditional DutiesCollaborate in the successful management of the internship program with LTW Program Director, NYCDOE Staff and the school communityCollaborate with LTW Program Director, the school community, and partners with functions such as special events, performances, workshops, and school community eventsWith Program Director and the LTW team, create best practices for data tracking, record keeping, and programmatic supportStrategize with team for program improvementAttend and participate, when appropriate, school / community-based meetings, administrative meetings, professional development trainings and other meetings as neededComplete tasks and projects assigned by the LTW Program Director, ADED and DEDQualifications/Educational RequirementsHigh School Diploma; Minimum of two years of experience providing office assistance, family and/or youth workExperience with teens, older youth and/or young adultsKnowledge of evidence-based and/or Best Practices to youth development and program supportMust obtain Department of Education fingerprint clearance and maintain throughout duration of employmentSkills, Knowledge and AbilitiesOutstanding communication skillsEfficient and organizedSelf-starterTeam playerAbility to self-reflectKnowledge of best approaches for teens and young adultsKnowledgeable or willing to learn web-based systemsCompassionateSense of humor a plusFlexibilityMultitaskerPhysical RequirementsFrequent walking and standingWork EnvironmentSchool CommunityFast pacedTeam OrientedEmployee Benefits :Medical/Dental/VisionLife Insurance/Commuter benefits/Employee Assistance Program (EAP)/Flexible Spending Accounts403B Thrift Retirement Plan12 Annual Sick Days12 Agency Holidays20 Days or 4 Weeks of Paid Time off and an additional week (5) days after 5 years of employmentTotal of more than 6 weeks (a month and half) of paid time offWe are committed to building an inclusive workplace community grounded in respect for differences.
