JOB TITLE: Program and Data Strategy Director - R24-048 PROJECT OVERVIEW: VES is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program and Data Strategy Director to lead our program and data systems design and implementation efforts. The Program and Data Strategy Director will work closely with VES and VGI staff to direct the design and provide oversight of the implementation of data systems, data architecture, and data systems integration that align with VES' strategic goals and priorities. This person will be responsible for developing a comprehensive program and data strategy to provide innovative solutions that meet VES partners' unique needs and requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a positive attitude; extensive experience with program implementation; data systems and data systems integration; a passion for collaboration and helping other organizations; and a desire to be part of VES' growth. JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Project Management: Plan, design, and collaboratively implement VES and partners' initiatives. Identify and analyze project risks. Present mitigation strategies to ensure the success and efficiency of the project.
  • Data Systems Oversight: Direct the design and implementation of data systems integration projects for VES partners by reviewing technical decisions, analyzing business and technical requirements, identifying areas of improvement, developing programmatic reports, reviewing and approving technical reports for partners, and recommending data governance policies and necessary changes. Review other project documentation (e.g., schedule, budget, scope).
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with VES and partners' project managers, engineers, and other staff to design and/or monitor technical deliverables related to data systems integration projects. Attend programmatic and technical meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Technical Solution Design: Review and provide subject matter expert input on designs for technical solutions for data systems integration to resolve technical business problems and improve end users experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Has extensive experience in program development.
  • Has professional experience in designing and/or managing educational, early childhood, and/or human services related data systems.
  • Has extensive experience in designing and reviewing business and technical requirements for data systems.
  • Has extensive experience in writing high-quality programmatic reports and/or reviewing technical reports.
  • Has skills in effectively presenting information, findings, and recommendations in written and oral forms.
  • Has strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and ability and willingness to think outside the box .
  • Possesses a customer-centric attitude.
  • Holds at least a bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Has familiarity with data governance best practices as it relates to data systems design.
  • Has strong strategic communication skills and experience in communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
WORK LOCATION: Dulles, VA TRAVEL: 5%
  • Must be willing to travel and stay in VES partners' location for a specified period (e.g., 1-3 days; one week).
