Company Description The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan serves as a common solicitor, storehouse and distributor of food on behalf of its Partner Agencies which are non-profit, charitable organizations serving those in need. Today the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan provides over 40 million pounds of food each year to those in need through more than 700 partner agencies. Partner Agencies consist of local soup kitchens, shelters, and food pantries who strive to feed the more than 300,000 people in eastern Michigan who are food insecure. The excellent relationships established within the Food Bank's 22 county service area and throughout the state has allowed for numerous programs and initiatives to help fight hunger. Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY The Program Associate will assist with the day-to-day operations of all children's programs. Associate will work closely with the Manager ensure all projects and programs are maintained and completed with accuracy, timeliness and future growth and ensure superior customer service to all internal team members and other stakeholders of the organization. All activities will support the organization's mission, culture and strategic plan objectives. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Create and maintain a positive work environment in alignment with the Company core values.
- Complete data entry assignments in a timely and accurate manner
- Work with Coordinators and Manager to help identify potential program sites
- Assist in collecting data for applications / grants
- Assist in set up and training new programs
- Assist in monitoring program sites according to Food Bank standards
- Track program reporting, including monthly reports
- Provide coverage at locations serving food to students
- Provide support for special initiatives as assigned
- Work effectively with stakeholders from diverse populations, revealing sensitivity, understanding and acceptance of others.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Various administrative duties such as calling sites, making copies, filing, data entry, folding brochures, creating fliers and special monthly reminders for sites
- Other duties as assigned
QualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- 2 years post High School educations preferred
- Valid Driver's license, good driving record and proof of insurance required
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Minimum one year of customer contact/customer service or human services experience preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Must be extremely organized and detail-orientated with strong project and time management skills
- Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills
- Solid judgment with high standards of accuracy, responsiveness, integrity and discretion
- Must be a motivated self-starter with positive attitude
- Ability to work well under deadlines and in high-pressure situations
- Ability to define and manage several projects simultaneously and have great follow-up skills
- Must be able to successfully pass a background screening
