Harlem Children's Zone (HCZ) â a world-renowned education and poverty-fighting organization based in New York â seeks an enthusiastic, dedicated, and mission-aligned Program Coordinator at Community Pride.The Program Coordinator will bring a passion for the mission of Harlem Children's Zone: break the cycle of intergenerational poverty with comprehensive, on-the-ground programming that builds up opportunities for children and families to thrive in school, work, and life.We are seeking a Program Coordinator to support daily program operations, help meet short and long-term goals and enhance the overall presence of HCZ in the community. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for the mission of HCZ, an understanding and respect for the culture of all residents of Harlem. This position reports to the Program Director.Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree with 2-3 years of supervisory experience working with a community-based organizationWho you are:A demonstrated commitment to the mission and programs of HCZKnowledge of and sensitivity to issues prevalent in underserved communities of colorExcellent presentation, written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and OutlookAbility to work flexible hours, as required by the demands of the programWhat you'll do:Under the guidance of the Program Director, help lead program staff, ensuring the successful delivery of program servicesWork closely with the Community Advisory Board and various other stakeholders within and throughout the St. Nicholas, Lincoln, and other housing developments to ensure community needs are identified, addressed, and metIdentify potential strategic partnerships (internal and external) that will promote the goals of the Community Pride programAide in the development of strategies that engage middle, high school, and college-aged youth in impactful community and service learning projects that create a sense of community ownership and accountabilityHelp identify and engage community youth (ages 18-24) who are not in school, unemployed, and/or recently incarcerated and connect them to supportive programs and servicesIdentify opportunities for safety improvements in and around the St. Nicholas housing developmentEngage neighborhood schools, parents, and students in the beautification of common spaces throughout the community (e.g., street/building clean-ups, gardening, mural painting, etc.)Design and execute various community-based special events and program activitiesCapture and compile program-related data and generate reportsPerform other duties as assignedSchedule:Fall - Spring:Monday - Thursday, 12pm - 8pmFriday 9am - 5pmSummer:Monday - Friday 9am - 5pmFlexibility is neededAs a member of the Harlem Children's Zone team, you will join a supportive and inclusive community dedicated to helping children, families â and our staff â thrive.
