Salary: $45,130.00 - $66,173.00 AnnuallyLocation : Wilson, NCJob Type: Full-TimeJob Number: 2024-41Division: Human Services and Public SafetyOpening Date: 11/15/2024Job SummaryThe Program Coordinator of Community Spanish Interpreter provides supervision and curricular oversight within the assigned program. The Program Coordinator will provide academic leadership and support adjunct faculty in delivering high-quality education. This position also carries a teaching workload as outlined in the Faculty Handbook. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performs all duties listed on the instructor job description.
  • Assists the Dean with the development of the program course schedule, including assignment of adjunct faculty.
  • Manages budget for program or discipline including any required travel, materials and supplies, equipment, adjunct instruction.
  • Manages programmatic or course specific equipment and inventory and assumes responsibility for labs and other facilities designated primarily for the assigned program or course.
  • Maintains program of study compliance with state curriculum standards and updates in response to industry needs.
  • Fosters continuous program improvement through annual planning process, including goal setting, report of results, and use of results.
  • Recruits, screens, and selects adjunct faculty for program.
  • Evaluates program adjunct faculty.
  • Monitors course and program enrollment and makes recommendations to the Dean regarding addition or removal of sections based on enrollment.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of articulation agreements and promotes student participation in such programs.
  • Develops and evaluates curriculum for quality, including updates to program of study, course content, assessments, etc.
  • Chairs or participates in advisory committee meetings.
  • Completes the program review process.
  • Maintains contacts with business, industry, and professional organizations to keep instructional program current with occupational or academic field.
  • Participates in the College's marketing and recruitment efforts by reviewing and providing content for program publications, the College's website, social media, marketing materials, and other community relations activities and attending events to enhance the College's outreach efforts.
Education and Experience:Master's degree in Spanish or a master's degree and at least 18 graduate hours in Spanish is requiredThree to five years of teaching experience and experience with online instruction is preferred.Wilson Community College is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Personal leave days are not transferable to any other form of leave and are not cumulative.SICK LEAVEYou earn 12 days per year (8 hours per month). This leave can accumulate indefinitely. It should be noted that insurance premiums are expensive, and rates/coverage may change annually. Open enrollment allows for changes to be made to your health coverage, and it is usually conducted in October each year. RETIREMENTTeachers' and State Employees' Retirement System (TSERS)Six percent of your gross salary as pre-taxed dollars goes into your retirement account monthly. A death benefit of one time's your annual salary (minimum $25,000 and maximum $50,000) is provided to you once you have been in the system for one year. Once you have completed five years in the system, you are considered to be vested.Unreduced Retirement Benefits are available as follow: Age 65 with 5 years of service Age 60 with 25 years of service Any age with 30 years of serviceDisability Income Plan:Is provided through TSERS. The plan provides short-term benefits after one year in the system. After a sixty-day waiting period, the plan pays 50% ofyour salary and longevity up to $3,000 per month for one year.It also provides long-term benefits after you are vested (5 years in the system). The plans pays 65% of your salary and longevity, up to $3900 per month until the disability ends. Long-term benefits include health coverage and the death benefit. Payments will be reduced if you are receiving social security disability benefits or workers compensation benefits.WORKERS COMPENSATIONUpon an accidental injury on the job, you will be covered by Workers Compensation.
