As a preeminent liberal arts college in an urban setting, Trinity College prepares students to be bold, independent thinkers who lead transformative lives.The Program Coordinator is responsible for the administrative and operational functions of the Center for Caribbean Studies (CCS), the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL), and the Trinity Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies (TIIS). Time allocation during the academic year is 75% CTL, 15% TIIS, and 10% CCS; during the summertime allocation is 100% CTL.
  • Event Planning - Coordinate programming for CTL, TIIS, and CCS, including all aspects of event planning. Reserve space, order catering and other supplies, arrange photography and audio-visual support, and support speaker travel and stipends. Events include an annual New Faculty Orientation (CTL), the Wassong Lecture (TIIS), and other events as planned by the co-directors, including seminars, workshops, reading groups, cultural events and others.
  • Publicity and Communications - Strategize and implement campus communications to promote CTL, TIIS, and CCS programs. Prepare promotional materials, including brochures, flyers, and posters, working with a graphic designer as needed. Maintain websites and mailing lists for CTL, TIIS, and CCS.
  • Resource Curation and Information Management - Maintain and expand the CTL library with guidance from the co-directors. Collect and share grant proposals, project abstracts, event recordings and other documents and media as needed. Interact with faculty and students in developing resources and materials.
  • Finances - Monitor expenditures and budgets. Participate in budget reconciliation. Receive invoices and prepare and submit check requests.
  • Scheduling - Maintain a shared calendar of campus-wide events for CTL, TIIS, and the Faculty Research Committee (FRC). Work closely with faculty to coordinate dates for program meetings.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and based on program needs.
  • This position is Full time in August to May and Part time June to July.
Qualifications
  • Outstanding administrative support skills, including excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills both in-person and over the phone, the ability to write clearly and properly, expertise in problem-solving, task and time management.
  • Must be proficient in determining priorities and able to exercise good judgment.
  • Comfortable in dealing with and working effectively with students, faculty, staff, and the public
  • Willingness to be a team player
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • (Preferred) Familiarity with WordPress and with Canva, Adobe, or other graphic software
Preference will be given to candidates who have a minimum of one to three years of related administrative support experience and a Bachelor's degree.
