The Program Coordinator I supports the General Services Department¿s mission to minimize losses against the state by providing effective alternatives to litigation for workplace issue resolution. This role is crucial to implementing the objectives outlined in the Risk Management Establishment Statute (§15-7-1 et seq. NMSA 1978) and the Tort Claims Act (§41-4-1 et seq. NMSA 1978). This position plays a key role in fostering a culture of conflict prevention through the promotion of mediation and restorative practices. How does it get done? - Coordinate mediation and restorative services for the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and Loss Prevention Bureau. - Promote ADR as a proactive loss prevention strategy and support loss prevention training initiatives to address conflicts before they escalate. - Conduct statewide outreach to engage agency leadership, employees, and stakeholders, advocating for the use of ADR methods. - Recruit, train, and collaborate with volunteer mediators and restorative practice facilitators. - Collect, analyze, and verify program data to report outcomes, and assist in the development of a new data management system. Who are the customers? Risk Management Division customers include state agencies and employees, board and commissions, schools and universities, and participating schools and local public bodies. Ideal Candidate Experience scheduling and assisting on large scale programs and/or projects with measurable results. Experience with assisting in collaborating on progam that impact multiple entities. Experience serving a diverse range of customers with differing needs. Experience in the field of Risk Management practices designed to reduce the possibility of loss. Minimum Qualification Bachelor's Degree and three (3) years program administration or project management in areas related to the purpose of the position. Substitutions apply. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT), extensive personal computer and phone usage. Sitting, standing, bending, lifting and reaching overhead may be required. Some travel is required, must have State Defensive Driving Certificate. Ability to lift 25 lbs.
