JOB TITLE: Program CoordinatorREPORTS TO: Executive DirectorFLSA TYPE: Non-ExemptWORK LOCATION: Downtown & TCC MetroJob Type: Part-TimeJOB PURPOSE: Develop, organize and implement high quality YMCA community programs with the downtown and TCC Metro YMCA's regarding membership and healthy living programs. All staff are representatives of the philosophy, mission and goal of the YMCA and its youth development programs. Staff must strive to work cooperatively with fellow employees to achieve the goals and objectives of the YMCA.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (not a complete list):
  • Direct and supervise program activities in membership and healthy living to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives (General areas: fitness center, group x studio, membership desk and other related program areas).
  • Recruit, hire, train staff and develop schedules.
  • Direct personnel and volunteers as needed. Develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
  • Maintains programs and enhance existing and develop new programs in the community according to strategic operating plans.
  • Assist in marketing and distribution of program (membership) information.
  • Develop relationships with community partners.
  • Develop and monitor program budget to meet fiscal objectives and purchase equipment and supplies as needed with director approval.
  • Coordinates us of facility for programs and events.
  • Assists in YMCA fundraising campaign; takes a leadership role in raising funds for the annual giving campaign.
  • Models' relationship building skills (including listen first) in all interactions. Respond to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
  • Assists in meetings.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures regarding the prevention of abuse.
  • Report any suspected abuse, neglect, or misconduct immediately to the appropriate supervisory staff.
  • Attend mandatory training on abuse prevention, including recognizing signs of abuse, and reporting requirements.
  • Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation of programs in healthy living and membership.
  • Oversee the equipment maintenance and repair.
RequirementsRequired:
  • Must be 18 years of age.?
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; College coursework preferred.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED, Oxygen Administration Certifications (will be provided upon employment).
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software.
  • Ability to work with participants of varying experience and skills levels.
Preferred:
  • CPR, First Aid, AED, Oxygen Administration certification (will provide upon employment)
  • Bilingual English and Spanish
Salary Description $14.00- $15.00 an hour
