Job Title: Program Coordinator (Right Turn GO) Department: Workforce Development (WFD) Reports to: Sr Manager of Training/Department FLSA Status: Full Time (Grant Funded) Salary: $47,000.00 per year Address: 4930 Beechnut St, Houston, TX 77096 Resume is required indicating experience. The Right Turn of Goodwill of Houston purpose of this program is to introduce and prepare justice-involved youth and young adults (18-24) for the world of work through placement into paid work experiences, and on a path to more equitable career opportunities with their peers. Position Summary: Assist with the planning, organizing, implementation and management of Goodwill Houston's Right Turn GO program. Provide workforce development services to 120 justice-involved youth and young adults ages 18 - 24, leading to more equitable career opportunities. The Program Support Coordinator Assists in the planning, organizing, implementation and manage the Right Turn Program. To help participants achieve their full potential through the dignity and power of work. Works with WFD Team Members with the re-entry program to help create a positive, effective and consistent corporate culture that is focused on training, education and employment services. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: •Track all case management activities in multiple databases (JIMS, ECM, CIS 360, Case Mgr) •Responsible for the day-to-day Program Coordinator Support that includes implementation, administration, fiscal and programmatic compliance. Provide program support as necessary to achieve the program objectives. •Leads routine staffing meetings to discuss case management coordination, and participants' learning progress, work readiness and job placement progress. Recommends appropriate success strategies for all participants. •As necessary may conduct intake assessment, testing and program assignment for new participants. •Provide guidance and support to program staff as required. •Works closely with the Manager/Dept and finance department to assure appropriate budget and fiscal compliance, and administration of programs. Responsible for reviewing and approving of program disbursements to insure conformity with funding agency and Goodwill policies and regulations. Assures all invoicing for services rendered are prepared and delivered to appropriate referring agencies. •Responsible for the timely collection, analysis and reporting of key program operating data. •Oversees and assures timely recording of all necessary participant reports, and documentation as required for state and local agency regulatory compliance. Maintain documentation for fiscal and program audits. •Act as liaison with federal, state, and local referring agencies. Primarily responsible for the development and maintenance of positive working relationships with federal, state, and local agencies to encourage and assure client referrals to Right Turn GO program and to fulfill Goodwill's mission. •Facilitate communication with referral sources and private sector to assure all program offerings are reflective of the needs of the participants and community. •Evaluate and make recommendations for program support services that may include referrals sources for training and education, curricula and materials for all in-housework readiness training programs to reflect the needs of the business community and job opportunities for each program. •Coordinate and assures the appropriate janitorial and routine maintenance of program facilities. Maintain adequate materials, supplies and equipment to support the professional delivery of all work readiness programs and job placement activities. •Responsible for the equal opportunity employment efforts and results and must take action to prevent harassment of employees and participants. •Ensure compliance with all Goodwill Houston policies, procedures and safety standards throughout work areas and maintain same to meet all state and local regulatory standards. •Facilitate or directly provide career coaching assistance services to employees and/or workforce members including intake, assessment, vocational and financial guidance, career and education search, and placement support. •Create a culture of accountability and constructive feedback, as well as use change management skills to motivate and drive results. •Manage employer partnerships for hiring events and resource fairs. •Develop a strategic outreach plan targeted at job seekers which includes analyzing recent job placement and employment data. •Maintain Engagement with Violence Prevention Counselors/Goodwill Staff for Support Services to provide; a mentorship program that includes a conflict resolution curriculum. •Maintain Engagement with Juvenile and Adult Justice System, Violence Prevention. •Must be punctual and have dependable attendance. •Maintain Engagement with Employers that commit to provide program participants with work experience opportunities. •Other duties as assigned by the Sr Manager of Training/Dept. Minimum Qualifications: •Bachelor's degree in Guidance and Counseling, Vocational Rehabilitation Management, Social Work or a related field is preferred. •One (1) to three (3) years of experience counseling, teaching, job development, placement or case management is required. •Ability to communicate and interact well with a variety of personality types. •Ability to occasionally work a flexible schedule. •Excellent communication skills. •Must be able to work occasional after-hours and weekends. •Must possess a valid driver's license, appropriate insurance coverage and a privately-owned reliable means of transportation to travel throughout the city to other job connections. •Ability to develop and facilitate engaging career development related workshops to groups. •Previous experience developing relationships with prospective employers required. •Demonstrated organizational and office skills in developing, managing and tracking program materials, processes, and procedures. •Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. •Self-directed and motivated. •Very comfortable and adept at using computer and mobile computing technology like Wi-Fi, laptops, smart phones, Microsoft Office products, Google web-based products, databases, etc. •Ability to effectively transition between multiple work locations. Physical Requirements/Work Environment: •Able to sit, stand, bend and reach. •Able to lift, push, pull up to twenty-five (25) pounds with no support regularly. Balanced Scorecard/Key Performance Indicators: •Assist in recruiting 120 opportunity youth by end of active phase grant. •Weekly oversight of Career Navigator/Career Navigators and Intake Specialist case management in multiple data systems. •Monthly review of Career Navigator caseload and youth progress in program. •Monitor new employer relationships monthly using Employer profiler. •Assist with providing opportunities for youth/young adults to receive income to start them on the path of earning living wages and obtaining high quality jobs and careers. •Establish MOU's/Letter of Support from Youth Informed Coalitions, Organizations, and Employers for referrals, support services, and/or employment opportunities. •Meet program participant training and employment outcome within 12 months. •Work towards overall grant strategic plan goals.
