DescriptionProgram Coordinator - Tobacco Cessation and PreventionReports to: AVP of Clinical ProgramsSUMMARY: The Program Coordinator for Tobacco Cessation and Prevention will direct the day-to-day planning and operation of DHA programs including the development of community-based focus groups and the development of an advisory group comprised of health, environmental, and medical experts to provide guidance in areas of concern and interest.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree with experience in the field of public health or education preferred (High School diploma or equivalent required.)
- One year of experience in related field.
- Superior oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including email.
- Ability to work independently toward goals and timeline
- Valid Mississippi Driver's License and proof of insurance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- This person will facilitate the planning process, coordinating efforts among the various staff members and oversee day-to-day operations.
- This position will represent DHA in any public health, environmental, or law enforcement activities as assigned by the COO of DHA.
- Direct activities and strategic planning for the Delta Health Alliance Tobacco Initiative, including the development of Student Teams, implementation of special programs, and communication with the MSDH OTC.
- Coordinate the available resources to maximize the effectiveness of the Delta Health Alliance Tobacco Initiative for the Delta Health Alliance.
- Facilitate the planning process and serve as liaison for internal constituents to aid in the accomplishment of goals and objectives of the Delta Health Alliance Tobacco Coalition.
- Oversee the development of tracking and reporting systems to identify program strengths, evaluate and recommend program changes, identify, and initiate additional collaborative opportunities with DHA partners.
- Encourage participation in DHA programs through the development of a network of partners in both the private and public sectors.
- Aid the COO in the development of budgets and organizational structure for the Delta Health Alliance Coalition for Tobacco Cessation and Prevention.
- Plan and schedule work for ensuring proper distribution of assignments and adequate manpower, space, and facilities to ensure successful outcomes for the Delta Health Alliance Coalition for Tobacco Cessation and Prevention.
