About Saratoga Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program:

The Albany Medical Center- Saratoga Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program is recruiting for a Program Director to lead this new and innovative residency program.

Developed as a collaboration with Albany Medical Center, Saratoga Hospital, and Hudson Headwaters Health network, the residency is a new community hospital based program. With a curriculum designed to provide broad-spectrum clinical training in both hospital and ambulatory medicine and a special emphasis on community and population health, behavioral health, addiction treatment, and state-of-the-art technology. The program just received full ACGME accreditation in May 2024.

Residents train at Saratoga Hospital and the Saratoga Community Health Center in Saratoga Springs, Hudson Headwaters Health Network Health centers in Glens Falls and Ticonderoga, as well as Albany Medical Center for inpatient pediatric training.

The program admitted its first class of 6 residents in July 2023 and is currently approved for 18 residents. Plans for future growth include expanding the number of approved positions and adding fellowship training in palliative medicine, geriatric medicine, addiction medicine, and sports medicine.

The Program Director, Family Medicine Residency Program must have a commitment and passion for graduate medical education and the desire to continue to grow the educational opportunities available. In addition to a thorough knowledge of ACGME's requirements, the Program Director must be prepared to fulfill the following duties and responsibilities, including family medicine clinical care:

· Develop, administer, maintain, and revise as needed curriculum conducive to educating residents in family medicine and preparing them to practice family medicine independently

· Define, select, supervise, and evaluate the faculty, facilities, educational resources, and other factors necessary to effectively support the program, achieve the program's goals, and maintain program accreditation

· Implement appropriate evaluation tools, feedback mechanisms and interventional plans for faculty and residents when necessary

· Lead resident recruitment and selection that aligns with both the sponsoring institution and the program's mission

· Represent the program and actively participate in the Graduate Medical Education Council of our sponsoring institution.

Minimum Requirements:

• MD or DO Degree

• Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine or by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians

• At least three years of experience, including administrative experience, as an active faculty member of a Family Medicine Residency Program
• Demonstrated leadership in curriculum development, evaluation methodology, teaching, and mentoring residents

• Currently licensed or able to obtain licenses in the state of New York.
