Program Director - Bay Shore Camp and Family Ministries, Sebewaing, MI

Bay Shore Camp & Family Ministries has been providing Camping for Youth and Families for over 100 years! It's Christian Camping at its Best!

Rooted in the tradition of the Evangelical Church, and the doctrines of John Wesley, our mission is to provide an invitation for all people to experience Jesus Christ and to nurture them in their relationship with Him.

Bay Shore Camp's recent expansion and growth as a multi-site ministry is prompting a need for reorganization. While we navigate a series of staff moves, we are receiving applications for several positions including Program Director. The Program Director reports directly to the Executive Director.

Essential responsibilities include:

Oversee summer camp operation

Coordinate the hiring of all seasonal summer staff

Supervise all summer program staff

Oversee seasonal outreach programs

Implement outdoor education programs

Coordinate training events for volunteer Deans, summer staff and cabin leaders

Coordinate with Guest Services the development and implementation of sponsored programmed retreats

Research and recommend new program activities and sponsored programmed retreats

Work with Board committees as necessary

Cooperate with the Marketing department to promote Bay Shore to potential campers, churches and communities

Communicate effectively with various populations (i.e. volunteers, children & youth, parents, pastors, etc.)

The minimum requirements and qualifications include:

Attitude of service and a commitment to Bay Shore Camp and its vision, mission and core values

Possess an evangelical Christian commitment and lifestyle consistent with the organization's goals

Fluent communication skills to include verbal, written and electronic

Previous experience in a Christian camp setting

Experience with program development in a Christian ministry setting

Possess an entrepreneurial spirit

Solid understanding of licensing and certification requirements including State of Michigan, ACCT, Water Safety

Ability to supervise employees and volunteers, and manage a department

Ability to work without direct supervision

Ability to undertake essential responsibilities above in a timely, friendly, respectful, detail-oriented manner

This is a full-time, year-round management position, eligible for the camp's benefit package including health insurance, meals when being served, onsite housing and paid vacation/sick/holiday leave.
