ABOUT THE ROLE

Up2Us Sports is seeking a passionate sports-based youth development Program Director to join our team. The Program Director will serve as the main point of contact for Up2Us Coaches and their programs in the Miami area. This individual will ensure that Up2Us Coaches and program sites are properly supported and maintain quality services and deliverables.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the organization's AmeriCorps Coach program in Miami under the direction of the Senior Program Director, with support from the Assistant National Director, Up2Us Coach.
  • Act as point of contact for Up2Us Coaches and program sites in Miami, and manage AmeriCorps Coach onboarding and exiting process in partnership with the National Operations Team including interviewing prospective coaches, running compliance checks, processing all onboarding and exiting paperwork, orientation, and training.
  • Mentor, motivate, and support Up2Us AmeriCorps Coaches.
  • Manage the planning, implementation, and execution of yearly coach program activities including host site and coach recruitment efforts and contract negotiation.
  • Implement program evaluation strategy and yield a high return rate on youth, coach, and partner evaluation feedback.
  • Assist with program strategy in the Miami area.
  • Participate in fundraising activities as appropriate.
  • Establish good working relationships and collaborative arrangements with local partners.
  • Establish Up2Us Sports as the “go-to” organization in the field of sports-based youth development for foundations, corporations, local key policymakers, sports organizations, and local youth sports programs.
  • Additional travel outside of regular host site visits may be required on an as-needed basis, both locally and nationally.
  • Other duties as determined by manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in nonprofit administration, youth program coordination, or recreation administration.
  • Minimum three years of experience in program implementation and/or program management.
  • Three to five years of experience in managing staff members.
  • Must be able to work on a team, but also be self-motivated; Experience working with remote teams preferred.
  • Must be able to comfortably travel throughout Miami, whether by personal vehicle or public transit.
  • Understanding and interest in both theory and practice of sports-based youth development.
  • Experience in developing collaborative partnerships among various stakeholders.
  • Prior experience in managing government funding and/or programming.
  • Grant writing experience and understanding of nonprofit fundraising is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask effectively and work on multiple projects at once.
  • Computer literacy and well-developed technology skills.
  • Strong connection with the youth sports community is preferred.
  • Experience working with AmeriCorps national service federal and/or state grants preferred, but not required.

COMPENSATION

  • Salary range: $46,000 - $52,000 per year
