Myra Kraft Achievers Program (MKAP)

The Myra Kraft Achievers Program (MKAP) is a unique first-year academic initiative designed to empower any student who has demonstrated exceptional intellectual potential but has faced educational limitations prior to attending Brandeis. MKAP provides a supportive environment for growth, learning, and community building.

Position Overview

As the MKAP Program Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic experience of MKAP students. You will lead program development, oversee budgetary matters, and collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure the program's success and support the student cohort community.

Responsibilities

Curriculum Development and Evaluation

• Work closely with faculty and instructors to design and refine the MKAP curriculum.
• Ensure that MKAP students acquire the necessary academic skills to thrive at Brandeis and beyond.
• Collect and analyze data to measure impact, student retention and degree completion.

Student Support and Community Building

• Provide guidance and mentorship to MKAP students.
• Develop and implement co-curricular programs that foster community and enhance student success.
• Collaborate with campus partners to analyze and assess students' progress and program effectiveness.

Collaboration and Outreach

• Partner with the Office of Admissions to manage program recruitment and admissions.
• Engage with the Office of Institutional Advancement to steward donors and alumni.

Leadership and Staff Development

• Recruit, manage and develop staff.
• Contribute to the larger Academic Services team by participating in planning and staff development initiatives.
• Plan, monitor and manage program funds.

Qualifications

• 6-8 years of total work-related experience in an educational setting, including 3-5 years of management experience.
• Master's degree in education, counseling, or a related field (Ph.D. preferred).
• Experience working with diverse student populations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Passion for promoting educational equity and student success.
