Parsons is now hiring a Program Director for our Roads and Highways - Greater Toronto Region who can lead a team of professionals overseeing every phase of large-scale projects and programs for provincial, regional, and municipal clients.

Parsons is an industry leader in successfully delivering complex, challenging, and high-profile infrastructure projects across all project delivery models, including integrated delivery (public-private partnership, design-build, construction management at-risk) and traditional delivery. In this role you will lead a large team of professionals across multiple offices in the design of multi-million-dollar road infrastructure projects, take a leadership role in developing and executing our business plan for civil roads and highways, and oversee, manage, and build our highways engineering team and portfolio of clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Acts as the Highways Director overseeing a large team over multiple offices/regions.
  • Act as a Project Manager and/or Team leader in relevant projects, tasks, and other assignments, including preparation of technical reports and documentation of activity for clients.
  • Manage, coach, motivate and provide leadership for staff to provide high-quality services and innovative solutions to complex roadway and infrastructure design challenges involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Lead and oversee the preparation of technical reports and documentation of activity for clients.
  • Provide effective management of day-to-day operations, including scheduling, assigning, and reviewing work to achieve project objectives.
  • Assist in business development activities and undertake leadership roles in proposal preparation.
  • Maintain awareness of trends, developments, and advancements in relevant fields.
  • Acts as the representative with clients and selected subcontractors during project execution.
  • Oversees establishment of Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan.
  • Responsible for the development and distribution of a one- to two-page description of the project to all members of the project team for reference.
  • Mobilizes company resources, through liaison with support departments, to create project teams capable of completing effective, quality work.
  • Promotes technical and commercial excellence on the project through application of Quality Assurance processes.
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field).
  • Must be Registered as Professional Engineer in Ontario (P.Eng.).
  • 20+ years of relevant technical experience, including 8 years of successful technical leadership and project management experience.
  • Significant managerial experience of a large group of Engineers, Designers, and technical support personnel.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Applied knowledge of published standards and guidelines from provincial and municipal governments.
  • Proficient in the application of specialized engineering and assessments software.
  • Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Not Applicable/None.
