Our client is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Shelter Programs Director to lead and manage all Shelter/Residential programs. This pivotal role requires a compassionate and strategic leader who can ensure exceptional service delivery to unhoused and at-risk clients and guests. The successful candidate will oversee program development, foster community relationships, ensure safety and maintenance, and provide client services and staff leadership. This position reports to the President/CEO and supervises a diverse team, including the Assistant Shelter Director, Men's Shelter (Day & Night), Women's/Children/Family Shelter (Day & Night), Day Center Shelter Lead, Front Office, and Social Workers Lead.By joining our client's team, you will become part of a mission-driven organization inspired by Christian values. - Oversee all Shelter/Residential programs to ensure they meet organizational standards and goals.
- Develop and implement program policies and procedures, manage budgets, and ensure financial accountability.
- Supervise and support Shelter/Residential staff, providing ongoing development, training, and performance evaluations.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with community partners and stakeholders, representing the organization at meetings and events.
- Deliver high-quality services to homeless and at-risk clients, resolving issues and concerns, and managing resources effectively.
Minimum Qualifications:Education, Experience & Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field, or equivalent education. Courses in psychology, sociology, education, health, and counseling are a plus.
- Five years of progressive supervisory and management experience, preferably in a business or operational context. Experience in social services working with at-risk populations and/or program management is a plus.
- Must have experience managing/supervising large teams.
- A class E Driver's License and a safe driving record.
- Satisfactory background check.

- Ability to work cooperatively with our client's staff and homeless guests to accomplish mission goals.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office products, and the ability to become proficient in data entry into the HMIS system.
Physical Requirements:The role requires the ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer or engaging with guests and community members. Movement throughout the office and campus is necessary. Must be capable of driving a car, van, or small bus. Infrequent stooping, lifting, and bending are expected, with occasional lifting up to 15 lbs. Requires the use of hands and arms and the ability to talk, hear, and view a computer monitor for extended periods. The role demands the ability to remain calm in pressured situations and to establish and maintain friendly and cooperative relations with employees, applicants, clergy, schools, and other organizations.Working Environment:This is a full-time position based in an office setting during normal business hours, requiring interaction with homeless and at-risk clients and guests. The environment demands a compassionate and understanding approach to service delivery. The job can be highly stressful, involving crisis situations, and requires the ability to function calmly under pressure. The environment can be emotionally demanding with exposure to challenging and distressing situations.
