The Program Director directs and oversees youth development programs, which includes, but is not limited to youth sports and wellness, recreation and enrichment, and summer day camp. This position will lead and develop a dynamic team of youth development professionals, playing a key role in ensuring planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate activities and lesson plans are provided to participants. You will lead a safe, high-quality youth and family department and supervise and evaluate staff and volunteers, including hiring and training, maintaining required staff/child ratios and conducting regular staff meetings. This role plays an important part of helping maintain professional relationships with families, facility personnel, and the community.Our Summer Day Camp serves 200 campers a day at three different camp locations, with a team of 40+ staff members. Our Youth Sports program served 1,500 youth last year with a team of 15+ staff members.Our mission and core values are brought to life by our culture. - Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience (or currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Program).
- One to two years of previous experience in a supervisory role preferred.
- Must have or be able to obtain child day care license with the State of Texas.EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUND

- The ability to direct programs through leading both staff and volunteers, developing and monitoring budgets, developing and marketing programs and bringing enthusiasm and a passion for fundraising.
- This leader will also need the ability to connect and relate with diverse groups of people at all levels of the organization.
- A proven track record in building authentic relationships with others and the ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
- Bilingual English/Spanish would be a plus.AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Directs and manages the development, operations, and growth of assigned program areas.
- Develops and manages the budgets related to the position. Meets fiscal objectives. Closely monitors revenue and expense.
- Recruits, hires, trains, evaluates, and supervises assigned staff and volunteers in assigned areas.
- Compiles program statistics and provides data and reports as required for assigned programs. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in programs.
- Provides leadership and support for branch management team, annual fundraising campaign, and volunteer committees as assigned.
- Develops and maintains relationships with state child care licensing agency, school administration, parent groups and other organizations and agencies related to assigned programs. Responds to all agency, parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
- Distributes program information necessary to promote assigned programs in accordance with branch marketing plans.
- Ensures that safety procedures are followed and that all programs are in compliance with YMCA best practices and any other applicable standards.
- Secures and schedules athletic fields and facilities. Transports and sets up equipment for games and practices; monitors and purchases necessary sporting equipment as budget permits.
- Creates teams from paid and financially assisted registrations. Organizes and conducts parent orientation meetings, and training and meetings for coaches.
- Develops and distributes team uniforms and awards; coordinates and distributes team photographs.
- Ensures high quality programs through program development evaluations and ongoing training of staff.
- Ensures upkeep of related facilities and equipment.
- Assures compliance with federal, state and local regulations as they relate to program areas, including ADA accommodations where appropriate. Ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed.
- Maintain proper records/department files.

The yearly salary range for this position is $44,000 - $48,000 and will be commensurate with the selected candidates experience.The YMCA provides competitive health, dental, and vision benefits.
